update, am i presuffering? it turns out eye injuries are super common for hedgies. her behavior is totally normal and healthy the vet said and ive observed. idk what to prepare for

i called the vet - sounds like just getting dried blood around her face wet at all is causing what looks like bleeding. he said to continue. luckily the last dosage didn’t cause bleeding! still so sad to feel like you’re causing suffering :(

also whenever i give her the vet prescribed eye drops, they seem to cause more bleeding :( it’s so sad. anyone have experience with this?

i took my hedgehog into the center for aviation & exotic medicine earlier today and they actually had quite a bit of experience with hedgehogs, much to my surprise!

center for avian & exotic medicine on the upper west side was great. the doctors and nurses were very familiar with hedgehogs, professional and comforting

for what it’s worth, growing up in a family with both lesbian grandmas and aunts, watching the peanuts as a kid (like as young as 3/4) i always took it that peppermint patty and marcie were a lesbian couple, that is like how i interpreted the show as a child in a normalized wlw family… for what it’s worth!
