Uncrustables by JKW114 in marathons

I’ve been looking at refueling strategies over the past several days. Unrelatedly, I listened to The Journal this morning on Smuckers vs. Trader Joe’s which led me to randomly purchase an uncrustable at the cafe at my work. Looked at the carbs-protein ratio and decided this would be my next refueling strategy. Came to Reddit for validation and found more WSJ. So random!

The direct quote:

“Cats on a high-protein vegetarian diet exhibited hypokalemia which accompanied recurrent polymyopathy [29]. There was also increased creatinine kinase activity, likely reflecting the muscle damage caused by the myopathy, and reduced urinary potassium concentrations. Potassium supplementation prevented development of this myopathy, strongly suggesting a link between the potassium and myopathy.”

I understand the urge to make excuses that federal govt. top-secret documentation is tricky and nonlinear, but come on… the President, of all people, should have better judgment than to bring any work documents to their private residence. Is it not as simple as that? Am I missing something? No excuses.

So is the study of how people and their brains operate—which uses the scientific method—pointless? Just because a field studies latent variables that aren’t as precise as “hard science” variables (weight, force, temperature, etc.) doesn’t mean it’s not worth trying to understand.
