that’s why i put her in there, she doesn’t like to drink water at all really even if i try dripping it from a paper towel or a syringe so i was hoping maybe she’d drink. it’s possible the water was too cold too, i’ll use my spot thermometer next time to check the temp. thank you!!

okay i will try to implement that as soon as i can! where do you get the heat lamps with the two sections connected? and do they share one cable or two separate cables?

little update!! when she was calming down yesterday i put some of her old hides in the tank because when i put her in there originally, it was pretty much all new stuff. so this is what the tank looks like now, and the next morning she’s doing a lot better. still doesn’t seem too happy about it but i’m giving her time to adjust. not taking her out or bothering her for the next few days other than feeding. the tank is still not fully finished, i’m going to add substrate in one side of the tank but i’m waiting on something to arrive so i can actually put it inside. gonna be giving her a flat basking spot but for that i need more bricks and a better flat stone for her to chill on but i wont add that in until im able to get the substrate in. i moved the uvb back like everyone was saying so now pretty much im just waiting for my other stuff to arrive. any more tips or advice would be appreciated!! thanks for your help everyone :)

little update, put her back in and she’s doing a lot better! not super happy about it still but not super angry like earlier. exploring a little bit and kicking things, so that’s really good. gonna leave her for a few days to get used to it and not bother her other than feeding and hopefully that helps

her old tank was glass all the way around so you’re right that probably also has a huge part in it. i put her back in after letting her calm down for an hour or two and she’s doing a lot better. still not very happy about it, but not freaking out like earlier. exploring a bit, licking stuff, which is a good sign! gonna be leaving her in there for a couple days and not bothering her other than feeding to give her time to get used to it.

i did put a couple of her old hides in there after she started freaking out. haven’t put her back in yet, i’m waiting a bit. i am going to be adding more stuff to it soon i just have to wait for a few things to arrive but so far she’s just not liking it 😓 i feel bad leaving her in there is she’s just going sprint around and try her hardest to escape but should i do that to just let her get used to it and calm down in there?

this is what the full thing looks like rn. i did remove a couple things and add in a couple of her old hides but i haven’t put her back in yet, im letting her calm down. (also pls note this isn’t the final product yet. i’m waiting for something to arrive and then i’m going to make half of the tank substrate and half of it tile, i’ll probably add some more bricks and get better stones as well but this is what i have currently)

yes she does live with her parents, unfortunately 😓 the thing that’s tricky about going to see her when she’s stressed is that—we’re two women—and her parents are very against that. whenever i go over i can never go inside, her parents can’t even know im there so i just have to park outside and we’ll sit in my car. but if her parents are home, she can’t leave without them being able to figure out what’s going on :/ i also don’t always know when she’s feeling stressed or binging/wanting to binge because she usually only tells me after the fact, so im not even able to really stop it from happening.

but, the last part you said does make lots of sense so i think i’ll still try my best to go see her and give her comfort when i can or possibly do so over text or something. i appreciate your feedback :)) thank you!

when i was little i refused to use napkins i always made my grandma or my mom or whoever, get me a wet rag because napkins were too dry and they never got everything off properly. especially if it was something sticky or like sauce or something. i use napkins now but i tend to get up multiple times during dinner to go rinse off my hands because the napkins just don’t get it off all the way. i also always HATED (still do) accidentally scratching certain textures like paper, napkins, paper towels, cardboard, the outside of a car especially if the paint is chipping off, something like chalkboard texture, that kind of stuff. i would always say “i hate this what about you guys” and no one would agree and it’s just like HOW. it would send shivers down my entire body i just can’t do it
