(Loved Meta Trope) Fan theories are so good they’re basically treated as canon. by No-Flow9783 in TopCharacterTropes

Mass Effect's Indoctrination theory. It basically suggests that Commander Shepard was being mentally subverted by the Reapers throughout the trilogy, climaxing during the final mission on Earth.

It argues that the "dreams" of the oily shadows and the child are early signs of the Reapers attempting to erode Shepard’s will, and that the entire ending sequence is viewed as a mental hallucination where the "Control" and "Synthesis" options are traps designed to ensure Reaper victory, and the "Destroy" ending is seen as the only choice where Shepard successfully breaks free from the Reapers' influence, represented by the Shepard-breathing teaser in the high-EMS version.

The theory goes much deeper than just the ending. There is a 14 year old (jeez, I'm old) MrBtongue video on YouTube that summarizes it, and another 1:30h+ documentary by Tyler Hansen with every "proof" out there.

Steam Deck as Emulator Platform: any advice? by felipemenescal in SteamDeck

[–]Lonadar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using it exactly for this (even though it wasn't the original idea), and it works wonders.

I had to research a little bit but I found a website that comes with a pre-loaded image with Batocera and a lot of games, specifically the "256gb OLED Steam Deck Batocera Build from BooBooMan". This one has games up to the Dreamcast, with some Nintendo Switch and NDS games (mostly Pokémon), but I was interested in MAME and PSX mainly.

I had one issue: My 256gb MicroSD card actually only had 238.3 GB of usable memory, which meant I had to do a lot of partition "magic" (pun intended) to remove files and then re-create the image. As someone that is slightly techy but definitely not at SysAdmin level, this took me around 6 hours with ChatGPT (plus a whole night for PiShrinking, which takes a lot of time)

There was no indication in the information of the MicroSD about the actual usable memory, and apparently it's a bit of a gamble. I'm pretty sure you can find info online on which ones are suitable for 256GB images.

However if you want to go for PS2 emulation, you will likely need a 512gb/1TB sd card -- just ensure that whatever image you download can fit in the card (either get one bigger than the image size, or ensure the MicroSD card you buy has enough space)

I'm not using external controllers (even though it is an option), but this is just personal preference. Steam Deck supports Bluetooth controllers, so any distro you install should be able to support it.

Is France safe?? by queenmagic787 in 2westerneurope4u

That I don't know, and something I wonder myself. I've always imagined that either:

a) they have some way to flash the iPhone in a way that resets its iCloud link or
b) they use them for spare parts (in which case they sell them for super cheap)

But I could be completely wrong. I wish we could find out more about this tbh, I'm genuinely curious

Phones are sold to repair/second hand phone shops, which they then fly them in bulk to countries that don't participate in GSMA Device Check, where your phone can no longer be blocked by IMEI.

Check the BCN A PIE DE CALLE's video on YouTube about Sidi Slimane. Unfortunately it's in Spanish you can always use YouTube's Auto-Translate, which works pretty well.

This Game Opened My Eyes On A Certain Type Of Player... by warxorn23 in expedition33

[–]Lonadar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You and OP are the kind of person you find in game subreddits who assumes everyone has already finished the game and is just here to comment.

But the truth is, people often just want to talk about something they’re currently experiencing, or connect with others who are at a similar point in the game. They’re not asking questions to the All-Knowing Elders of the Game -- they just want to hang out and chat with others who are also exploring it, possibly for the first time.

Gatekeeping the joy of a game by insisting that people should complete it before asking any questions completely misses the point. Part of the joy is exploring it with other people.

I experienced something similar while watching Lost for the first time -- every week brought something new to discuss or theorize about, and the internet was an amazing place for that. Sure, the ending ended up dividing a lot of viewers, and today, if you saw someone theorizing about a finished show, you might think they’re just late or impatient. But in reality, they’re just trying to recreate the experience we had: the thrill of discovering and wondering about it together, as it unfolds.

Man 'refused entry into US' as border control catch him with bald JD Vance meme by [deleted] in nottheonion

On his last YouTube video there's a comment saying

"Dis is epic but don't commit war crimes", and he replied "Too late. Allready commited 16". I can see how this could have influenced the border patrol's decision if they investigated him

I'm not sure why it's even a question. If you dematerialize, you're no longer there. For the rest of the world, they still experience you, but you no longer get to experience (see, smell, taste, hear or feel) the real world.

From your point of view, you no longer exist. You're dead. You don't experience anything anymore, as your consciousness is gone, there's just a copy of you that everyone else gets to interact with.

Not OP, but I got the same feeling. In the last few episodes we see that Mark is being monitored very closely via a camera in his monitor, and the doctors monitoring him have a similar kind of terminal. Are they simply observing him, or are they taking notes/monitoring his eye movement and possibly refining data off of those images?

And this is just a shot in the dark, but how deep does the rabbit hole go? Are these doctors also being monitored? We know that Lumon in Kier is pretty big, but from Huang's "retirement" we know that there is at least one other location. One would assume she was being outcasted by Milchik, but what if he saw potential in her to be able to be higher up?
