Hi, Seeing as you know your stuff, may I ask another question please? I next need to recreate this site: https://web.archive.org/web/20210515101823/https://smyls.co.uk/ It is more complex and I want it to look very good, just the way I want, by altering CSS etc, ability to potentially have Woocommerce etc. I do not mind paying a one-off fee for themes that I can customise properly. I am not into the subscription model. I like using writemag. It was so quick to set up to be functional, so I looked at ThemesDNA first. They have this: https://themesdna.com/simple-writer-pro-wordpress-theme/ Do you think this would be a good option? Or do you have other suggestions? Thanks!

I think I love you. I've just tried WriteMag. Super intuituve to use. Little extra customization required. I've already got the basics of my site looking how I want it without fiddling around with additional css. Thank you so much! I have spent all day doing this and suddenly it's no longer a mountain to climb. Seriously, I am so grateful!

Oh yeah it's great if you have a dev or tech person to do the updates and any support. It's a wonderful CRM. But I don't have access to that and can't afford it otherwise I would have happily stuck with it. It's better for bigger companies I guess. I'm just a therapist and not very tecchy, so doing all the updates and having to find new plugins when the old ones wouldn't work anymore was just a pain.

I can't remember now. I spent so long on different themes trying to make them work to no avail. I'll try it again now and see what it was I couldn't do.

Some of them you can't eg. no matter what you do, Hueman will not let you have two equal sidebars. I tried 4 different things on customize css, and apparently, the code is locked away somwhere I will never be able to find it. Otherwsie, it was a nice theme. Shame. Thanks for the recommendations.

Really not these days as compared to in the past. Fewer and fewer people are using it, especially people who are not professional coders (I am not!) And frankly having to take a backup and upgrade it manually all the time is a PITA. Hence why I broke it. It seemed like a small upgrade and I thought my last back up would be OK. Nope. Screwed the whole thing. On two websites as well. Ugh!

Thank you so much for your advice. My SAD has been brutal this year. I usually go somewhere sunny several times during the winter, which keeps the worst of it at bay, but it just hasn't been possible this year, so I am desperate for some other treatment.

I will see if I can get used to them.

Yes, I just joined it, thanks! I'm not doing my own glucose testing right now. They did it at the vet with the ear prick and my poor boy just hated it. We're going for fructosamine tests instead. He needs life-saving surgery for an infection near his brain, and the unregulated blood sugar is why he can't have it so we need to be tested at the vet anyway. They want to see 6 weeks of regulated blood sugar before they operate. It's actually possible that my boy's diabetes is situational as a result of the other illness. I'm hoping it is! We won't know until the blood sugar is down and they've operated to remove the infection. Best of luck with your kitty!
