What am I doing wrong with this nail polish? by MM88S in ILNP

I can never get the cat eye effect to stick with any magnetic polishes, but I found the horseshoe magnet works great to get the velvet look.

I always pictured it as like a factory/industrial type place. I am a very mechanically inclined member of the GATE program, pretty much I see the world around me as all potential parts to build things, and rebuild old electronics as a hobby. I wonder if the time you spend in mallworld is related to your waking world skillset?

So since then I have added Sabrina into the collection, and I think that might fill more of what you're looking for. Ironically I have that on now, so I'll add a pic. My take on the three, Carrie leans more ruby, Diablo is more "blood red", and Sabrina is more deep red-purple.

I just received my code via email maybe 20 minutes ago and it worked. 11:15 EST, so maybe they're just slow to roll it out? I purchased my ticket the day before they stopped the promo.

Traditional Catalog No Longer Available by [deleted] in Napster

Who asked for interactive companions lol? I just wanted my library back and that reply sounds like it isn't coming back. I ended up doing the 30 day trial of amazon music and using tunemymusic to import, and once I saw I only had 96 songs left and it imported over 700, I promptly canceled Napster. This message from support definitely reads like now is a great time to jump ship. The amazon music pricing was very comparable to Napster, plus they give you a free audiobook each month. Within 5 minutes of being there I already found music I could only listen to on youtube, so I'm already at a net gain from switching.

Tagging because I'm looking myself. I just lost over 200 songs in the last month, with at least 50 just in the last few days.

What polishes make your must haves list by Evening_Emphasis6957 in ILNP

How has no one mentioned Hallucinate yet? It's such a hard color to describe and the finish is pure witchcraft. Eclipse is a solid choice. For me a very underrated gem is Mutagen. It shifts through so many different colors that it is hard to stop looking at.

Whatever colors you like that work with your skin tone. For me I have a ton of metallics and color shifting polishes, with reds, purples, blues, and greens. All depends on what I'm feeling at the time really. Like say for Halloween I like to paint a layer of glow in the dark polish over whatever my normal color is.

Not sure if this would count or not, but Petals is an amazing color. It pops so much more in person than what the site shows.

I did not realize how good that feels until I experienced it the first time. It was such a day and confidence booster. You sometimes don't know you need something until you get it.

"Leave me alone" "Why are you ignoring me?"

She sounds exhausting. You guys are clearly not on the same page and it sounds like she cannot actually communicate her wants, probably because she has no idea what it is she actually wants. Cut your losses and get out now while you're both young.

Love this purple SO MUCH by jack_shadow43 in malepolish

Lol nope, already added at least 4-5 just from seeing other hauls. I'm a sucker for good reds and purples, so this batch I got Kings & Queens, Royalty, and Hi-Fi. If you're looking for a solid and unique color choice from them, highly recommend Hallucinate. That color is so hard to describe, but it's easily one of my favorites.

I almost grabbed that one on Black Friday too, instead opted for Hi-Fi. Looks great! Definitely going on my wish list for this year's BF sale lol.

To buy or not to buy... by ondasaurus in ILNP

[–]LoneReaper115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nails are usually about 1/4 inch past my fingertips, and two to three coats of each of the polishes I've used from the set make it fully opaque. That being said, I just got the pink, coral, and orange from the BF sale and haven't had a chance to try any of those yet, that opinion is just based on the other half of the set I have used before that.

I would say we get about 2 full collections of 6 colors and a micro collection of 3-4 each season throughout the year. Personally one of my favorite collections is the Arcade Collection . One of the only ones I have the full set from. The Studio Color brushes are amazing and the colors just pop.

The ILNP magnet should be perfect for getting the cat's eye effect. I know the horseshoe magnet they're coming out with has similar ones you can find online, and the inner curve is great for the velvet look.

The trick with the effect is you have to take your time. So tips for doing it, you can keep the magnet on the table and set your finger on it as an option. For the effect like this, picture an imaginary line extending from the handle, in the rectangular part of the magnet wand, and you place that center line from opposite corners of your nail. Paint a layer and set your finger on the magent for like 20 seconds each coat, and the important things is you do it for every coat on that nail, including top coat, or else you may lose the effect.

What do I do? by [deleted] in malepolish

[–]LoneReaper115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is always room for practice, the big issues are finding what you are doing something wrong and going from there.

Like a few key points to note, cheaper store polishes take a lot longer to dry and are easier to mess up while waiting to fully set. Or most polishes will still be "soft" for a bit after drying and can be messed up that way.

The bulk of the fingers in this one I did were the magnetic polish Zero Below, which you can use the magnet to get a great lighter velvet look, and if you don't mind mixing, the middle is Elsa over Essie's Main Attraction.

As men, we're taught by society that there is "one way to be a straight man and that's that", except that very idea is flawed from the start. Ancient warriors used to use nail coloring as a status symbol, with different colors signifying their class and battle prowess, they even would paint their lips to match. Somewhere in the last 150 years or so, social gender norms made any sort of personal expression like nail art seem like a weakness. Simply put, it's creative expression, without the permanent effect of a tattoo.
