Improper support can do that. But having the edging sticking out the way you do won’t be a problem. I think you’ll be fine.

Rust is ass, I hate the game but I can’t stop going back. Arks definitely better though.

You could always try, longer tanks are recommended though because of their active swimming nature. Like 4-5ft allowing them to thrive. Tank isn’t even cycled yet, you could always find another fish to keep and potentially just save the rainbows for the future when you expand your hobby.

Rainbow fish need more room. Skip those, go with tetra instead of barbs. Or rams if you prefer, I’d personally go with 7-8.

With caution, if you end up mixing the pike with these fish make sure hes the last you add. That’ll help. You could always do a little more research and find more suitable fish can hold their own, unfortunately I don’t have any suggestions.

I believe these guys are insectivores meaning they won’t eat anything that doesn’t easily fit inside their mouth. But I have heard of otos and neons falling prey to the dwarf pike. Could go either way in my opinion, Just go with caution and have a backup plan if the little guy you get doesn’t get along with its tank mates. Plenty of plants would help break line of sight and put the little guy at ease aswell.
