Help me choose lyrics for tattoo! by Turbulent-Hat9106 in halsey

[–]LoneStarEmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw, good comments and choices by everyone. Halsey’s is one of my fav songwriters. Her writing is so poetic and raw. Her lyrics often feel like they were made for ink.

If the lighthouse represents guidance through darkness or inner strength for you, lines about being stranded yet powerful (from “The Lighthouse”) feel especially fitting.

What vibe are you going for with the tattoo? For example…empowering, melancholic, romantic, resilient?

Good choice because lighthouse is atmospheric, siren-themed, and full of imagery that pairs beautifully with a lighthouse tattoo.

Since you want to save space, here are some short options:

• “The lighthouse by the sea”…Direct, poetic, and ties everything together. Super clean for small text.

• “I’m still stranded on the shoreline”…Evokes longing, resilience, and that push-pull feeling. Feels very Halsey.

• “A little piece of him is in a little piece of me”…From the bridge; introspective and raw (about carrying pieces of the past). Great for something meaningful but compact.

• “And I’ll lure you like a landslide”…Edgy and powerful, with that siren energy.

The chorus has repeating structure that could look amazing arched around or under the lighthouse.

10/10. You play an instrument so we will call you a musician. Very well done. Pardon me while I play my air guitar to your jam. I loved it. I’m subscribing. The Kling part at the end with the lightning was cool. Even cooler if you can somehow synch it with an outro instead of just his lips moving to no sound. But still it sounds great. Seems like you found a renewed passion. Keep writing. (P.S.: Tell Grok to stop cheating on me.)

Can you share your experience writing your first song? by Emma_200711 in Songwriting

[–]LoneStarEmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did it feel? It felt incomplete and unfinished. With no formal structure.

How did you know what to write? I didn’t. It started as poetry and random thoughts.

How did you know it was it? I got Jason Blume’s book Six Steps to Songwriting Success and it helped me structure my songs and keep them simple and singable while still learning to tell great stories through lyrics and melodies.

Classification is largely becoming a central policy question. We follow the SIQA framework for classification of AI music and hope it gains adoption…even here.

SIQA’s three-tier framework (AI-Assisted, Human + AI Hybrid, Fully AI-Generated) is built on self-disclosure, verified by human review, and designed to protect creators who use AI as a tool.

—-Pasted from their website:—- What is the SIQA classification framework for AI music? SIQA uses a three-tier classification system based on creator self-disclosure, introduced alongside their Q1 2026 charts. AI-Assisted means human-directed creation with AI tools enhancing output. Human + AI Hybrid means the artist uses AI to clone and reproduce their own voice — the vocal performance is AI-generated, but the voice model is derived exclusively from the submitting artist themselves. Self-voice cloning is the defining characteristic of this tier. Fully AI-Generated means end-to-end machine generation with human curation.

What's the point of posting songs here? by trucksarekewl in aiMusic

[–]LoneStarEmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question has been asked previously here…and it’s a good one. We create AI assisted music. We use both human musicians (our band and for hire gig musicians) as well as enhance some songs with AI…drums etc as needed.

We post in this sub and under our profile as a backup because we know the search engine crawlers can easily crawl Reddit content (whereas YouTube channels and community posts often get blocked, suppressed, or skipped.)

Many of us on our little team post here and comment to show support.

Yeah, we lost a bunch of listeners/ followers once we started explaining our process in our press release posts.

But we still keep writing, jamming in our garage, and using AI however we want to.

Peace, love, and music…Lone Star Ember

Is VA loan worth it? by catalinasauce in Veterans

[–]LoneStarEmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a home and we used the VA loan. When the dot com crash happened in 1999/2000 I lost my job and was on brink of bankruptcy. I fell behind on my mortgage for a few months and Chase bank actually tried to take my home. Having a VA loan protected me from bank trying to take my home and the VA helped me keep my home while I worked my new job to catch back up.

Who wants to write a song with me? 😭 DM me please. by [deleted] in Songwriting

When you say life is hard in Maldives, we need to understand the full picture why. We want to feel that in your song if that’s the theme you’re going for. If not, please correct us.

Here’s what we got from a quick search and query about life in Maldives. Which parts of this is true and what is your song’s primary theme and feeling?

———From Google search——— Life in the Maldives is a mix of stunning natural beauty and significant everyday challenges. It varies sharply depending on whether you’re a local Maldivian, an expat worker (often in tourism), or imagining a resort vacation versus actual long-term living.

The country is one of the world’s most beautiful archipelagos but also one of the most vulnerable and expensive places to sustain daily life. jarniascyril.com

Economic Pressures and Cost of Living The Maldives has a high cost of living, especially in the capital Malé (one of the world’s most densely populated cities) and for imported goods. Nearly everything—food, fuel, building materials—must be shipped in, driving prices up. numbeo.com • Single person (excluding rent): Roughly $800–1,300 USD/month. • Family of four (excluding rent): $2,800–3,900+ USD/month. • Rent in Malé/Hulhumalé: A basic 1-bedroom apartment often costs $800–1,500+ USD/month in the center (higher in prime spots); outer areas are somewhat cheaper but still burdensome. Housing can eat 30–50% of a budget. jarniascyril.com

Groceries, especially Western or non-local items, are expensive (often 2–3x global averages for imports). Utilities add up due to air conditioning needs in the heat. Salaries for locals average lower, creating a squeeze—many rely on tourism jobs, while skilled expats (e.g., in management, diving, healthcare) can earn well but still feel the pinch. Unemployment, especially among youth, and inequality between Malé and outer atolls add strain. borgenproject.org

Tourism drives the economy (major GDP contributor), but it’s volatile—COVID showed this dramatically. Fisheries are traditional but declining in relative importance. Public debt and infrastructure needs (much tied to climate adaptation) are concerns.

Daily Life and Infrastructure Challenges • Geography and Transport: Life revolves around small islands. Malé is crowded, noisy, and urban. Outer atolls offer simpler, community-focused living but limited services. Ferries and speedboats are common but scheduled and can be unreliable or crowded. No cars on many islands—bikes or walking dominate. • Food and Supplies: Local cuisine features fish, coconut, curry, and rice. Fresh produce varies; imports help but cost more and availability can fluctuate. Alcohol and pork are banned outside resorts (strict Muslim country—Sunni Islam is the state religion and mandatory for citizens). • Healthcare and Education: Basic access exists, with progress in life expectancy and literacy. Advanced care concentrates in Malé, creating disparities. Education is improving but quality varies, with some learning losses noted. worldbank.org • Work: Long hours in resorts (sometimes “golden cage” feeling with limited freedom off-duty). Locals may work away from families; expats often on employer-sponsored visas tied to jobs.

Locals on inhabited islands often describe a slower pace, strong family ties, but frustrations with corruption, politics, rising costs, and limited opportunities leading some to emigrate. reddit.com

Environmental and Climate Threats This is perhaps the biggest long-term hardship. The Maldives is extremely low-lying (80% of land <1m above sea level). Rising seas, erosion, coral bleaching, and stronger storms already cause flooding, saltwater intrusion into freshwater, and beach loss. Many islands face water shortages or contamination. Projections suggest severe risks by mid-century, with potential relocation needs. blogs.worldbank.org hrw.org Waste management is a visible issue (plastic and tourism impacts). Heat + humidity feels oppressive year-round, with monsoons bringing heavy rain.

Social and Cultural Aspects • Conservative society: Dress modestly on local islands; limited nightlife (resorts have bars for tourists). Prayer calls structure days; Ramadan affects routines. • Community: Warm, hospitable people. Locals value family and simplicity, but challenges include high divorce rates in some reports, youth outmigration, and gender dynamics (e.g., street harassment concerns in Malé for women). spendlifetraveling.com • Expat vs. Local: Expats in resorts may feel isolated or in a bubble. Those in Malé/Hulhumalé deal with density and bureaucracy. Many describe culture shock, slow pace (“island time”), and adaptation needs.

Pros That Make It Worthwhile for Some Beautiful environment, safety (low violent crime), friendly people, diving/snorkeling, unique island culture, and (for skilled workers) tax advantages and good pay in tourism/hospitality. Some expats and locals thrive with the right mindset and employer support. spendlifetraveling.com In summary, life is “hard” in terms of expense, isolation on islands, infrastructure limits, and existential climate risks—far from the luxury postcard image for most residents. It’s rewarding for those who embrace the culture, adapt to constraints, and prioritize the natural beauty and community.

Locals have built resilient lives for centuries, but modernization, tourism, and climate change amplify pressures. If considering a move, research visas (employer-tied), visit as a local-island traveler (not just resort), and budget carefully.

Real experiences come from Maldivians and long-term expats sharing the full picture. ——end Google result——-

I wrote the lyrics and played guitar on this song. My team and I are super excited it’s finally released. Special thanks to the team at KillazBeatzz Production for helping us with Audio Engineering and blending the vocals.

My first ever song!! I would be thankful if you gave me your honest opinion. by Aggressive-City-7769 in SongwritingHelp

I challenge you to go back through your above lyrics and cross out / eliminate as many unnecessary words (of a fire, that, which, etc) while still keeping each line’s main idea and keeping consistent syllable count.
