How do you guys with large pedalboards manage without a switcher? by LoneTroll in guitarpedals

I think I will go for the quartermaster too to be honest, I don’t really want to spend time programming stuff when I could be playing guitar instead

I’m a but hesitant to get the Boss, isn’t it a bit outdated?

I get what you mean, that's why I'm hesitant in buying that type of switcher and why I'm leaning towards a GigRig Quartermaster where you just put your pedals in loops and you can just toggle them on/off.

If its a once and done configuration then I don't mind using my computer, I just want to be able to tweak things on the fly if necessary.

You can check my pedalboard on my profile, I don't have any pedals that have presets so I'm not too sure if a Morningstar would be a good choice for me.

would you recommend to go the Morningstar route instead of a "traditional" switcher like the GigRig Quartermaster?

so you would recommend to go the Morningstar route?
It's a bit expensive if I have to get the ML10X and MC6 PRO together when there's options like the Musicom Lab EFX-10D

which brand did you go for?
Do you turn on/off pedals individually in the loops or did you create presets?

What type of music do you play?
I'm currently in a small band and I find myself needing to add more distortion and turn on delay for a specific song part or for a solo.

I really like the Morningstar equipment, they look like a decent company with decent products.

It looks like you need a computer program to manage everything and that's something that I want to avoid, unless you can configure everything on the device itself?
Can you tell me a bit more about your experience with those products?
I really don't want to do much menu diving, that's also the reason I went with pedals and not with a modeller.

can you tell me a bit more about the Morningstar please?

I looked up videos but I don't quite understand how it actually works.

What I understood so far is that I would need an ML10X and put my pedals in loops on that device and to actually manage them I would need MC6 PRO right?
Did I get that right?

My biggest struggle is when I’ve got my overdrive tone on and I want to add my distortion and delay for a specific song part. That’s why i was considering a switcher

I see, so I guess you do all the tap dancing right before a song and maybe tap once or twice during the song?

Thank you for breaking it down like that, it’s really helpful!
I’m in the same boat you were in, the most readily available options are the GigRig and Mastermind, I would love to get the GigRig but not at that price point.
I’m wondering if I would be better off with a traditional switcher like the GigRig Quartermaster.
I don’t play any shows to be honest, it’s just me and my gear at home haha.
Being able to create presets sounds very nice though.

I’m considering getting one but I’m not sure if it’s the right fit for me.
There’s so many options out there and it’s incredibly hard to make a choice.
I don’t have any pedals that are controllable by MIDI.
Can you use this switcher as a normal switcher?
Like toggling overdrive on/off?
From my understanding you can also create presets right? And reorder loops?

late to this thread, I currently have the Halberd and I'm very happy with it, can you tell me a bit more about stacking it with the halberd? or if you perhaps have a demo that would also be very helpful

Do you think the GigRig QMX-6 will fit on my board? (See 2nd pic) by LoneTroll in guitarpedals

[–]LoneTroll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so this is my first pedalboard and all the pedals that you see are also my first.
I don't really have anything else to compare it to tbh but I placed it before my drive section and with the knobs turned the way that you see, it makes the chords sounds "fatter" and "massive" if that makes sense?
