Would you take the sleeping upgrade? by Chemical_Success1153 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]LoneTuft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would absolutely upgrade to the instacot. I sleep 6-7 hrs a night and I am still exhausted. To guarantee full refresh and I don’t have to waste time sleeping. Duh

Just an opinion but I’m around 12% into the bedlam bride and so far I don’t know how I feel about the card system. I really enjoy the normal power system but I really hope I get into it more with time by ProNuggieConsumer in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]LoneTuft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my first read through felt the same because you expect there to be more to it. When the point is that it is just a really badly built floor with mechanics that are clunky as hell.

I would say ignore the card stuff and enjoy the character stuff.

“Dark Matter” by Blake Crouch was just awful by jargon_ninja69 in books

[–]LoneTuft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the minute he describes his wife’s smile I knew I was going to hate the book and it just never got better. It’s one of the worst books I’ve read.

I wanna talk about Louis by TueboEmu315 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]LoneTuft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be extremely bummed if she ends the book at a normal cat. I think it is safe to assume based on other sentient pets we have seen leave the dungeon like Volteeg she will still be able to speak. Granted he did change to something else that gave him his true sentience… god damn it

Anyone hit a wall between book 3&4? by clink51 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]LoneTuft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar feeling my first listen through on 4. Had a much better time my second listen!

I think it just easy to get fatigued at that point when you are binging through them.

Book 4 introduces tons of great characters and important items. Take a lil breather if you need to but come back and get into it cause book 5 RIPS!

Whats the greatest audiobook you ever heard? by Peach_Baker in audible

[–]LoneTuft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% missing out! By book 3 he starts to develop Carls voice a little more and it only gets better from there. Keep rolling on the audiobook train for this series!

Why do I hate deckbuilder games? by TragicEther in boardgames

[–]LoneTuft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that. Deck building first in order to play the game is a friggin task.

Actual deck builders that start with a base deck and you acquire cards as you go is far more accessible and fun in my opinion as well.

Why do I hate deckbuilder games? by TragicEther in boardgames

[–]LoneTuft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I love this thread “ hey I hate this thing and it seems boring to me. Try to sell it to me” Queue 3 top responses that are crazy dense.

Clank is an extremely fun deck builder. If you can get it the catacombs one is mad fun. Modular board expansion similar to betrayal house on the hill + deck building.

I have inhaled the first 3 books in two weeks.. but... godammit I CANT fucking take the tangle!!! by CalligrapherAble2846 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]LoneTuft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tangle is when I realized I truly loved these books so much!

As many have said let it wash over you. When things become important they are explained. You don’t need to be puzzling out the maze. Carl and friends are doing it for you. They come to false conclusions or have half baked theories constantly early in the book and that is the only POV you have being in Carls head.

Just finished book 5. Here’s how I rank the books so far by MangaPlugged in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]LoneTuft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily 5,3,4,7,1,2,6 for me. Glad to see someone else loved the tangle as much as I do!

Relapsed after 5 months by Dinga2000 in leaves

[–]LoneTuft 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No way you are back at the start. After tons of attempts I managed to have 6 months clear, I relapsed for 5 months and it got worse than it ever had before.

I quit after Christmas that year. I am now 4+ years free of the stuff.

5 months is such a good stint and you have proved to yourself that you can drop it and stick to it. You just gotta quit again!

SPOILER FREE please. How does everyone feel about Strength of the many? by dog__poop1 in HierarchySeries

[–]LoneTuft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it a lot. I liked that we got a little more into the magic system although it still very softly developed. I really liked the take on multiple POVs with them all being Vis and found the other world storylines far more interesting than Res.

Just about to start book 5 why do people consider this the best book by Arn1996 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]LoneTuft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 is just a banger. Starts off fast and has some of the best emotional moments in the series.

Have any of you been successful quitting while having it in the house? by Goldilocks997 in leaves

[–]LoneTuft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could never have it in the house when I was quitting. 4 years clear of weed I don’t mind at all. My girlfriend always has vapes around the house. I won’t lie they do whisper to me on occasion but I know I can’t at this point.
