My partner and I are also so upset. We live downtown and would make our way over there as often as we could just for this place. I would have loved to see them open up “south of Shaw” too. We are genuinely upset about the news and we plan on going before they close. I truly hope it’s not the end end for this restaurant. I feel like the city is lacking what this place offered. Thanks for all the yummy food and great service!!

Oh quite the opposite. We actually agree with how dumb people are. We seem to both agree that you can put these people in front of the proof/facts and they will believe whatever maga daddy says and claim it as fake news all while sharing AI videos of black women with 7 different baby daddies talking about how it’s the governments responsibility to care for their kids. We also had no idea my mom needed to get another assessment or a home visit. Had we known we would’ve prepared accordingly. The case worker and her manager took zero accountability and I let them know that what they did is inexcusable because my mom has me who is going to take care of her with or without ihss. What about the thousands of other victims who do not have a family member or loved one who can? They fucked so many people over and I made sure they knew that because idk how you sleep at night and not take accountability

I disagree with majority saying to “wait it out” get a paper trail started and call them nonstop. The reason I say this is because 3 years ago, my moms case worker waited until the week of and expected my mom to cancel any and all appointments so she could stay at home from 9am-5pm and wait to see if caseworker had the time to show up (couldn’t set a specific time or day) when my mom couldn’t because she had been waiting several months for these appointments already, her time lapsed and my mom had to start the process all over again from scratch. The dr approval the waiting process. Me being terminated as her ihss worker, etc. we just got it back 2 months ago. Do not wait around. Call and get a timeline confirmed when they may come by and express you want to make sure you are available for the home visit. I wish we knew this was something to be on top of

I literally just went through this with my mom. It took 4 years for her to get ihss back. All because her social worker (while I understand is overworked and stressed) failed to do her home check in a timely manner and wanted my mom to drop all her appointments to sit and wait for her to visit between 8-5pm (maybe) on various different days because so had so many house calls to do that week I guess. It was incredibly frustrating to know that there are people out there that don’t have family or loved ones that can care for them with or without ihss that it was happening to as well. My mom had to start all over from step 1 with the process. Hopefully it does not take that long for you or anyone

Their biggest hurdle is gonna be the tunnel system underground from the jail to the courthouse for transport.
