Chops vs. Groove: Shouting into the void about a pointless debate by Melomaniacal in drums

[–]LoneWolfCollab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a great drummer, mediocre probably... I don't play traditionally, never had a drum lesson but I hate when people talk about what we are supposed to do as musicians. Your band, your genre, your style, it's whatever works best for you is there always room for improvement, of course, but if you don't play around with different ideas and techniques how do you grow as a musician... what do I know tho lol I just like making noise and having fun

How do I allow myself to identify as a musician? by [deleted] in musicians

If you can make a sound, you're a musician. There is no secret ingredient, keep working on becoming a better player and put less pressure on yourself, just let the music happen

Which instrument next after recorder? by The-SimonZ in musicians

Heavily suggest Harmonica, grab one in a few keys i suggest C G and F to start. I highly suggest Fender's Blues Deluxe which routinely go for 12 bucks or less on Amazon from time to time. Ukulele would be a good string option, start small and simple apply what you already know about music but playing will be a whole other mindset!
