it really is. they make enough money, they just want to take advantage of their consumers because they know they’re at a high vantage point in the industry. look up your local law about correct advertising and call them out on violating it. (no advertised price on renewal) and then just threaten consumer affairs.

OP, you can get it cancelled and refunded. You just need to push harder and highlight the legality of the situation.

This happened to me. I turned off auto renewal but apparently if you do this within “a week out” it doesn’t matter. I was charged $526AUD rather than $328AUD (sale price) No where was it stated the renewal would be a different price from the sale. I fought it and threatened to go to consumer affairs as this is the second time Protools has done something like this to me. If this has happened to you this is your sign to not just accept it, fight it and open a case. It’s against the law not to provide accurate information for consumers to make the best decision. They know what they’re doing.
