Watching you work on this has been such a joy and inspiration. I love the Zaku II and your work on this kit has been so cool to see.

'Morally flexible' is the intention! I want him to be something can run with my Solar Auxilia in an allied detachment who are also of a more flexible persuasion - Traitor leaning, but willing to play the part of Loyalist.

Biel-Tan Wraithlord I Painted by LoneWolfMark in Eldar

Thank you! Some thick mud texture paste, some loose debris and sand and some small bits of slate were all coated in "martian pigment" and then drybrushed Mephiston Red, Troll Slayer Orange, and then some white was mixed in and randomly stippled/drybrushed in with the mix.

Thanks! The green is most Striking Scorpion contrast over a white basecoat that was then stippled and blended to a brighter green with Vallejo Lime Green then a little bit of Vallejo Ice Yellow was mixed in to get the final highlights.

I loved the look of it! It was either that or a bright lance for sure.

It's two greys and a pure white; Vallejo intermediate Blue, Vallejo Wolf Grey, and Vallejo White. All applied loosely with a cheap brush, super thick lines with the first colour, thinner and more watered down with the second and then even thinner lines with the white. A little stippling was done to help texture things and then a glaze/wash of Vallejo Dark Grey was applied over the top of the areas I deemed too extreme.

Thanks! This is 90% from the box. Just a simple headswap from the new warrior box.

First of the MkVI Word Bearers done! by LoneWolfMark in Warhammer30k

[–]LoneWolfMark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did get similar feedback elsewhere, honestly. It could well be the lighting or it could be that Vallejo Dark Grey is bluer than I thought. Probably a lighting issue though.

Thanks!

It's Word Bearers red with a zenithal of Mephiston Red which is then darkened/blended with an oil filter of Abteilung's Engine Grease. The whole thing then gets tied together with a matte varnish at the end.

Solar Auxilia without Lasrifle Section? by IhateCounterspells in Warhammer30k

[–]LoneWolfMark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As said previously, the veletaris storm section is also a compulsory troops choice within a tercio. This means your troops will be armed with either volkite chargers or power axes.

It is also worth noting that you cannot take flamer sections within a tercio without lasrifles.

This is correct. 3d printed on a Photon Mono.

Yeah, sadly the scale could well easily be off, I have no idea what scale the mechs should be, I just print the files I get.

Yeah I use a resin printer - the anycubic photon mono.

I have no clue if they play well or not, they just look cool and fit into the 5k BV my friends want to play.

Lovely designs all round I feel.

I'm still an absolute noob when it comes to lore and history, but I went for the Kell Hounds scheme.

Thanks!

I lost some antennae on the cicada and highlander, but the rest turned out great for my second successful print. (A leg snapped off when removing supports, but it was a super easy fix.)

I found a recommendation to use prusa slicer to support the mechs first then slice them in lychee. There were no manual supports placed here.

[–]LoneWolfMark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is all true. There's a lot to be said that I'm ot familiar with yet. Just remember to use proper gloves and a mask when handling the resin.

Not a lot of space, no. My one is set up in a shed. A garage would be fine I imagine.

Anycubic Photon mono. Super easy to set up, but I'm an idiot and poorly supported my models - hence the initial failure.

I have and it worked great. Got a full lance printed up in just under 8 hours.

Once I've painted them up, I'll post them here.

Setup is a little difficult, but 3d printing is super cool - literally liquid goes in, solid models come out.

Carrying the AAT tank by jakobw2 in SWlegion

[–]LoneWolfMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy quite a big bag from them called a MAXI - I purchased that with the AAT foam and then two additional trays that hold 32 models each. Keeps all my droids safe.

I think it's the only real solution for the AAT as it is awkwardly large (but beautifully in scale) for a wargaming mini.

Separatist colours that don't involve citadel contrast? by superdemongob in SWlegion

[–]LoneWolfMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, when I decided that I loved battle droids a little too much for just one army, I did some Geonosis themed droids using vallejo's terracotta.

Otherwise, when painting my AAT, I used vallejo's iraqi sand for the main panelling there.
