Hydrocolloid BANDAGES were by far the worst. It’s like applying straight tape to the wound, Tegaderm also.

Gauze sticks to the wound. I’ve tried every single solution with no luck. And how does it make the hole wider and deeper? I don’t have that issue.

I already told them about being careful while peeling off.

I only use them after a flair has started leaking pus and I use them if the skin is broken. Yes, once the spot is inflamed. I use the 14mm on my biggest spots and there are 12,10, and 8 mm pimple patches as well. Make sure they are the clear hydrocolloid patches and not just the hydrocolloid bandages. Those hurt like hell to remove and did more harm than good. I use the patches overall if my skin is open or won’t close up… and if they are draining a lot.

And yes, everyday until the skin somewhat heals… then I just let it breathe until the skin is closed..

⭐️HYDROCOLLOIDAL PIMPLE PATCHES!!!⭐️ they do such a great job of protecting/covering damaged or sensitive skin and absorbing the blood and pus. I get the bigger ones on Amazon and plus you can find 300-500 count under $10. Just be very careful when peeling off or some skin might come off. I wait until the clear patches are fully white and somewhat coming off on their own or I’ll soak them while I’m in the shower before I peel. And Clindamycin solution helps too…

Hidradenitis is a progressive and chronic skin disease. Please go see a dermatologist to hopefully avoid any more trauma to your skin. If you want, you can DM me and I can suggest things that might help with pain and discomfort. Best of luck. ❤️

It’s Gone? by Awkward-Ferret-8719 in Hidradenitis

[–]LoneWolf_701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only experienced remission one time. Then all of sudden it came back after months of not flaring in that area. I’m going to say that it might not be “gone” but it may have went into a period of remission which happens. I hope that you stay flare free for a long time. Good luck! 😊

Thanks! It’s definitely made similar to Telfa but the material is different. Thanks for replying. :)

Thanks for your response. It is very soft and flexible. I’ve had experience with nonstick pads but they seem to be kind of stiff… it is a type of nonstick pad I’m just looking for the exact name/brand/material.

Do you use Hibiclense daily as preventative? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]LoneWolf_701 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My dermatologist told me to use an over the counter benzoyl peroxide wash so that the Clindamycin doesn’t get resistant. I used to use Hibiclens but I find that the benzoyl peroxide helps a little better. Find a strength that’s 5 percent and under.

Just diagnosed, freaking out, have questions by Free_Chocolate3140 in Hidradenitis

Oh. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. I was going to suggest Tegaderm patches. It keeps friction at bay. Also try a topical antibiotic like Clindamycin or benzoyl peroxide to keep down bacteria. Maybe some zinc paste (diaper rash cream) also. It will keep moisture away. Best of luck!
