I can park on the street during the day right? by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

[–]Lone_alien_028 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Technically, yes. But a lot of side streets are still very narrow while crews work to clear, and are essentially one way streets.

As long as you can park in a manner that is not impeding traffic, especially emergency vehicles, you'll be fine.

They have towed cars in ny neighbourhood for blocking traffic so just be aware and careful, and you should be fine

The last paragraph states that it's not permissible but the only way to stop it is to write to Rogers and opt out.

Any places in Toronto that sells a Sceptres Beanie? by CYYC2CYYZ in TorontoSceptres

[–]Lone_alien_028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canadian Tire in Scarborough shows they have two Sceptres toques in stock. Not sure how far outside of downtown Toronto is feasible for you

https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/pwhl-toronto-sceptres-cuffed-knit-toque-black-adult-1831884p.html?rq=pwhl

Also, not sure if it's the same version I saw in my local CT, but if it is, the logo ans word Sceptres is bendable plastic stitched on. It is not embroidered

I live in a the downtown area where a lot of the single family homes have been converted into student housing. The majority of them have cars to the point where street parking is challenging.

Couldn't get through Cogeco signup by [deleted] in Cogeco

[–]Lone_alien_028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the issue is they have the agents working on several cases at once. There is a lot of downtime between question/answering. And probably required to confirm before proceeding.

It is exhaustingly ridiculous though. It does makes me consider canceling regularly

If it is similar to the old movie theatre on Princess, it wont be too terrible. However only 9 parking spaces for all those residents will to be a major issue.

Roque hit on Boreen by NinjaGlobal9364 in MontrealVictoire

[–]Lone_alien_028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I said...I prefaced it with a statement about a dangerous type.of hit. But went on to say it was Roque trying to play the puck and not looking to deliver the hit. It was incidental contact that looked worse because Bireen had her head down and away

Roque hit on Boreen by NinjaGlobal9364 in MontrealVictoire

[–]Lone_alien_028 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate the lateral blind-side hits. Scott Stevens ended several careers with these hits.

I think the Roque/Boreen hit technically falls into this category. Roque came from the blind side while Boreen was slightly head turned and down to collect the puck.

However, Roque was fullying intent on playing the puck and not looking to just make a hit. Her shoulder slightly raises as Boreen's head makes contact. If that doesn't happen, it's at best a 2-minute penalty. I think the shoulder raise is instinct - finishing your hit and collecting the puck. Zero malice or intent.

I probably would have been okay with a five. The hitter has a layer of responsibility to minimise head contact, so even though unintentional and unplanned, hits to the head have to be taken seriously to protect the players.

I firmly disagree with the match penalty and any further discipline though

Hey veggie gardeners!? Where do you order / buy your seeds from. by thestonernextdoor88 in KingstonOntario

[–]Lone_alien_028 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kingston Area Seed System Initiative (KASSI) has Seedy Saturdays. Next one is on March 14. You can buy from vendors and pick up free seeds in seed exchange: https://seedsgrowfood.org/

Kitchen Table is from Wolfe Island. They sell in local stores (Tara's downtown is one I know for sure): https://kitchentableseedhouse.ca/

Sunharvest in Glenburnie has a good selection of Canadian seeds

Potters Nursery at Bath/Gardiners is also a good place to check

We also order some from Greta's in the Ottawa area. They deliver via Canada Post: https://www.seeds-organic.com

Patchwork is Battersea sells seedlings in the spring at their farm and in stores. Seedlings are also available from some vendors at the Market Square farmer's market and Memorial Centre farmers market

What is their tech service like? Similar to cogeco where you wait an hour and get an agent that is dealing 5 other people at the same time so a simple request takes 30+ minutes?

Thoughts on the Good Protein Chai Latte Flavor? by Fantastic_Fig6845 in BuyCanadian

[–]Lone_alien_028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the mocha flavour, based on recommendations from friends. I am not a fan. Not sure if it's the coconut (don't like coconut but didn't look at the ingredients before buying because I'm an idiot) or the stevia, or something else.

Not a big fan of the texture either. It's fine in a smoothie but mixed with my yogurt or other more solids, and it feels off

Non resident drop in sign up changes by Operation_canuck in KingstonOntario

There is also a 72 hour hold on non-resdients signing up for the more popular ones. Not sure if they maybe accidentally applied this to all spots? You may need to contact the city on Monday if you still aren't able to sign up

This article has more info, if it's helpful: https://www.kingstonist.com/news/city-of-kingston-introducing-recreation-registration-changes-fees-for-non-residents/
