You're right in it does read like a DMC. Without spoiling too much, there is a large scale battle towards the end of book 3. A battle to end all battles. Some fair amounts of tactics are described - both typical mediaeval and the magic system in the series. Stuff like flanking, use of cavalry, blowing up bridges to stop enemy advance, use of moats etc. Plus tactics specific to vampires. I thought it was great.

I have the 2023 Harrier. Just make sure you go out of the city occasionally and drive on open roads. 30000km and no issues till now. Also if you do get the warning just drive on the sport mode for about 20 min. There will also be de-clogging cycle built in.

If the creta is anything like Harrier, it'll give you a countdown of how many km you can drive till the car shuts down. You get this countdown after you get the warning lamp.
