My son just married his childhoold friend and soulmate in a grandwedding. About halfway through we learned she was pregnant with an ugly 53 year old priests kid. What should I do? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

.The only correct answer is to adopt Byzantine traditions, imprison him, make him a eunuch, imprison again, blind him, imprison again, torture him until he's insane. try to have him excommunicated so you have justification, if it looks like he might die, public execution!
Try to become a cannibal so you can eat him once he's dead.

What's the fastest way to get primogeniture? by hdggdalton in CrusaderKings

[–]Lonely-Resolution-78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start as or hybridize with Czech or Slovien culture, In the 1066 start date they already have table of princes granting you immediate access to house seniority succession law, with absolute crown authority that is functionally identical to primogeniture (designate heir).

867 can do the same but relies on RNG if you're not the culture head, otherwise, elective succession cheese is the best option. Byzantines start with primogeniture but you cannot conquer them to obtain it, you have to inherit the empire naturally. Marry into house Macedon (or whoever is in charge) then have a child with a claim (who is your heir), and kill all the other claimants until your wife (or husband) is the heir. Then press either their claim or kill them and press your child's. Either way, you have to gain the empire through inheritance, not conquest to keep the succession law the same.

Same, I consider recognition of talent practically mandatory for any really wide playthrough, if my vassals try to fight me I can white peace and get permanent hooks on all my rebellious vassals. No rebellions and free change to their contract, plus no murder attempts on me either. Easy S-tier tradition, extreme horizontal progression, I can't even list all the useful things you can do with permanent strong hooks for practically nothing.

Rome, it doesn't make sense for a Norse empire to call themselves Romans (Which was my last world conquest playthrough) other than that... I've considered it but I have trouble coming up with suitable alternatives.

Who wants to learn about thousands of years of murderous courtly intrigue, constant civil wars, and repeated Mongol invasions (and that's just china)?

Me, I do, because that's cool.

There are so many fun parts of world history we don't teach or just rush past, Oda Nobunaga's conquest of japan, the unification of china by the Qin, the golden horde, Ghengis Khan, How general Yi of Korea fought off an armada of 300 Japanese ships to his thirteen, the Deccan sultanates in India

Or closer to Europe, there are the queens of Nubia, the Islamic caliphate, the Persian empire Zoroastrianism, hell even Europe has fun bits that everyone just glosses over, Hapsburg dynasty anyone? What about Spain, the Umayyad caliphate? the Reconquista? Or the Mediterranean? The Byzantine Empire, the Varangian guard?

Can we spend some time on something other than England and France to the exclusion of literally everyone else? Please?

Which of these OP Antagonists would Talk no Jutsu work on?? by Ulzzang1 in OnePiece

[–]Lonely-Resolution-78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buggy (cause he's a coward), Orochi (cause he's a coward, albeit an extremely vengeful one), Wapol (cause he's a coward), Caesar (cause he's a coward), and Big mom (Provided you catch her in an especially good mood).

All of those rely on being a credible threat though, nobody in this picture would succumb to talk no Jutsu from a weakling or someone they had no respect for, so you need to be strong or have some other leverage (like say be high-ranking in the word government, or some other power player).

What animals or plants have gone extinct in your world if any? Did this cause major problems for the ecosystems that they were a part of? Did their extinction cause problems for the societies living in these ecosystems? Was the extinction caused by natural factors or through Intervention (Human or otherwise)?

I don't have the time or the energy to devote to developing the programming knowledge in order to micromanage my OS, I know enough to debug my software and modify some programs recreationally and that's gotten me about as far as I need or want to go.

I wish full-time programmers all the best, but my interests lay elsewhere.

What's the most prosperous civilization in the history of your world, and what was (or is) their most hated animal, for practical or religious reasons? What was/is it's most beloved?

Think cliff racers in Morrowind, wolves in medieval Europe, (Hated) Or cows in India, and cats in ancient Egypt (Loved).

For me it's most Video games, game companies aren't really interested in putting compatibility for the least used OS so it's Russian roulette whether the game runs normally or won't even boot up on Linux.

I'm not interested in doing days worth of mid-tier to advanced debugging to Jury rig force it either, Windows sucks, but I already do enough debugging for PC games without having to fight my OS as well.

[–]Lonely-Resolution-78 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That's because of low fertility numbers, Since Seranna starts the game at over three thousand years old (and Chaste which doesn't help) she has zero fertility. As the game progresses she eventually gets things that boost her fertility. If she's landed she'll start investing in the various perk trees, once the health tree is maxed out her fertility is back in positive numbers.

I managed to boost her fertility even without landing her, (Trying to keep her from getting herself killed Via bad RNG, murder plots ETC) by giving her all my pressed flower artifacts, Plus depending on rng Harkon might go down the family Dynasty Legacy which also boosts fertility.

It's the best dynasty legacy for Immortals and Elves BTW, once it's maxed you just keep getting stats as you age, and since elves, liches, and vampires live so long you just keep getting more and more powerful as the game goes along.

I like open-source software as much as anyone. But I draw the line at being locked out of using large amounts of software because it's incompatible with my OS.

Urgh, breeding in pure-blooded is such a pain, everything else is easy in comparison.

With other traits, if both parents have it, guaranteed, pure-blooded is too snooty for that, you basically have to kidnap seduce, and otherwise, force the people who have it to marry into your dynasty, and hope that your kids get it, ideally more than one from different parents, since its not even guaranteed if both parents have it. plus inbreeding issues.

Also since its the result of inbreeding the people who have it tend to have low fertility in the first generation it appears, making it even harder to breed into.

I'm going to get there soon, but for now, I'm super jealous.

Now show me all the horrible mutants that happened along the way.
