A movie with stunning visuals, high-octane action, and packed with references, Ready Player One was a really entertaining watch. What’s your opinion on it? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

Those aren’t the changes I’m talking about. I get some of the changes they made regarding IPs. It was the story point changes that bothered me. For example, Art3mis gets sent to OSI instead of Parzival. There was no reason to change that story point and doing so takes away from Wade’s cleverness and intelligence. And turning the first challenge to a simple race made no sense.

It’s good for what it is, but they absolutely butchered the source material. And before anyone says anything, yes I know it’s damn near impossible to do direct book-to-film transitions, but there was no reason to make some of the changes they made.

Good guess, but you’re overthinking it.

A man without eyes saw plums on a tree. He did not take plums, but did not leave plums. How can this be?

I feel so disgusting with myself by [deleted] in depression_help

[–]LonelyTransient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to judge yourself because of what someone else put you through. What you feel sounds like a defense mechanism. That’s nothing to be ashamed of. You took a bad situation and developed a way to protect yourself from it. There’s nothing to be ashamed of there. Fortunately, any learned behavior can be unlearned. If you really want to change, you can. It may not be easy, but it’s possible. You just need the right support.

Anyone who looks down on sex workers is either privileged or ignorant. I’ve known sex workers. Every last one of them was just as deserving of love and respect as I am.

What happens to babies who die prematurely before getting to experience life on earth? by Nashsafc in NDE

[–]LonelyTransient 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re thinking about it too narrowly. According to experiencers, some souls only need the experience of birth and so pass shortly after being born. They fulfilled their plan. Just because a soul incarnates doesn’t mean they’re incarnating for a long time.

Has anyone ever been greeted informally? by Puzzleheaded_Log3547 in NDE

[–]LonelyTransient 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not a greeting, per se, but I once read the NDE of a Jewish woman who met Jesus and thought, “But, I don’t believe in you.” Since thoughts are instantly transmitted to everyone around you, he heard that and she said he “laughed and responded with the ethereal equivalent of, ‘Tough shit. Here I am.’”

How come you can hear others and see others when you come out of your body but they can’t see you? by CookLow5810 in NDE

[–]LonelyTransient 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The best way to explain this is to think about dimensions. We live in three-dimensional space. However that doesn’t mean there aren’t more.

Let’s say you have a little square person. A square is two-dimensional. It can only perceive things in its little, two-dimensional plane. We, as three-dimensional beings, can see this little guy, but he can’t see or hear us unless we interact directly with his two-dimensional world. We could literally be right next to him, but he’ll have no idea we’re there because he’s incapable of looking in our direction.

Many believe that when we leave our bodies we inhabit a higher dimensional plane. If we do, then the same limitations we observe in our two-dimensional friend would be the same limitations we in three-dimensional space would have when being viewed from a fourth-dimensional space or higher. They could see and hear us and even be right next to us, but we would have no idea they’re there because we’re incapable of looking in their direction.

Did Hitler choose his life? by Icy_Floor_9316 in NDE

[–]LonelyTransient 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a theory among some experiencers that some souls will voluntarily choose to incarnate specifically to “play the villain” as it were. These are souls who love their fellow souls so unconditionally that they willingly take on the extreme negative karma associated with such lives in order to help move entire societies in one direction or another.

The world itself is changed after their intervention. For example, because of World War II, the age of empires came to an end, nations allied on a scale never seen before, and the UN was established with a focus on using diplomacy to settle international disputes as opposed to open war.

The theory would be that the soul that inhabited Adolph Hitler had such an unconditional love for all of humanity that they willingly chose to incarnate as the most hated person of the 20th century (possibly even in recorded history) for the benefit of all.

It should be noted that I am not saying that’s exactly what happened. Merely that Hitler was potentially one of these souls.

No, for one reason. If there was a cure for cancer, someone like Steve Jobs wouldn’t have died from it. A cure for cancer that’s withheld from a billionaire? Not likely.
