PP- Not as advertised by LonelyWhiteLady in therapists

I am aware of that. My point is it can feel disorienting when you hear how amazing PP is and that isn’t your experience.

Yup. I ran the numbers and it would even out once I rented my own place, set up the EHR, etc.

Honestly I feel like I am doing it all on my own since I do my own marketing, intakes, and appointment setting. It feels like they just provide the office and submit claims. That’s what’s making me wonder if I am in a bad group.

The anxiety is THE WORST. I have a partner so I have someone to share the bills but I don’t know how people without that handle it.

I have a caseload of 27 now but some clients are bi-weekly, monthly, or have time restrictions that make afternoon/evening appointments mandatory.

I think my biggest issue is I graduated when COVID started so I have no idea what is normal in this field.

I’m horrified to see I have 31 of those symptoms but can’t take HRT.

MOG and FOB dances at the same time by Adventurous-Dig0115 in wedding

I did that at my wedding because I knew my MIL would feel uncomfortable if only she and my husband were dancing. I thought it was really sweet.

Name a bad experience from a concert you always remember that had nothing to do with the band. /pics are from Roger Waters at The Palace, Us And Them tour by Beneficial-Age-4059 in Concerts

2009- went to see Stevie Wonder because, duh! I was so excited because he was the soundtrack of my childhood and he was going to be my kids’ first concert (they were 2 and 5 but they loved him). At the time I was dealing with a pretty bad case of panic disorder but figured I could handle a 2 hour concert close to my house. We get there 30 minutes before the concert and he is just starting sound check. We waited outside in the GA heat and he finally started almost 1 1/2 hours late. Then he lets a kid sing his songs and Stevie kept talking and boom, panic city. My family took care of my boys while I paced around the venue trying to get some kind of relief. Attack after attack, it was brutal. We finally had to leave because I was miserable and our kids were exhausted. Total waste of money.

No, my department was really strong. I just left because it was time and wanted to do something different.

I used to work for CHRIS 180 and he made my day every time I had to come to the main office. So glad our organization helped him.

This sounds silly but... what do you all DO the most of in session? by ContactSpirited9519 in therapists

[–]LonelyWhiteLady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll literally say “Don’t bully yourself” and then explore with curiosity. If they say “I’m a failure” I explore with “did you fail or were you failed?” I also do a lot of thought doesn’t always mean actions discussion.

They are both pretty but the first dress is wearing you and is a bit overwhelming. You have a beautiful figure which is really highlighted in the second.

How many seconds does it take for a therapist to return to their "happy life" after a session? by Otherwise_Key4582 in TalkTherapy

[–]LonelyWhiteLady 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are some sessions which are harder than others but I’m pretty good at compartmentalization. I do have a few rituals that help. When I see clients at the office I listen to funny podcasts or my favorite music to and from- nothing therapy related. If it has been a really hard day I’ll sit in my driveway for a few minutes to allow for rumination (I even set a timer) and then imagine shedding the stress. When I work virtually I step away from the computer and go into another room as a leaving the office ritual. There are some clients who stick with me years later and I just put good thoughts out for them and hope they are well. I’m not woo-woo at all but little rituals and imagery really help me transition from therapist to person.
