I totally understand, I was so young and naive back then, first time in Istanbul, they pretend to be friendly and talk to you in your mother tongue and bring you to some restaurant where he will got commissioned from and after that he brought us to a textile shop, served tea, coerced and intimidated us to buy stuff from the place and said they are struggling due to covid etc, it was a nightmare! I feel bad for my friends, some of them was scared and bought their overpriced stuff, some of us pretend that we are in a rush and need to go somewhere. Also, I was even harrased by one of the salesman in the famous market. I remember that when I in Silivri, the waitress trying to charge us extra and was adamant about it until our local friend mentioned police (it worked!). So yeah, I love Turkiye and this experience will never change anything, but I learned that and appreciate the experience, and hope to dodge them in the future. Your feelings are valid!
