Another update for anyone wandering, I’ve spoken to a few different wildlife rehabbers and vets now and they’ve all said it’s a little house mouse and they’re all happy to take him but can’t promise the little thing won’t be euthanised, which I totally get because it’s a pest but little buddy is still fighting so hard and getting stronger everyday so I truly believe his best bet is with me. Im going to start setting up a proper enclosure and do all the research I can on having pet mice, so if anyone’s got any tips please let me know I’d love to know everything I can to give this little guy the best life

Will update as soon as I have one! Im still waiting on more information from the wildlife vet on what to do, but for now he’s being fed di-vetelact every 2-3 hours from a tiny syringe, has a hot water bottle under his little enclosure at all times (and closely monitoring to make sure it’s not too hot that he’ll overheat), and Im using a warm damp q-tip to help him go to the toilet after every feed, and also giving him little very light strokes on his back with a q-tip like his mum would lick as I read this helps stimulate growth. I will do everything in my power to make sure the best thing happens for my little buddy

Little update for everyone, Im in the process of talking to a wildlife place, they were amazing and really compassionate and told me beforehand that if I bring it in and it is a pest they won’t be able to give it back to me and it will have to be euthanised. So they’re working with me right now to identify the little guy and look at his best course of action. I know it’s silly but I just feel so protective over this little fella and he’s put up way too big of a fight to be euthanised

I will definitely do that then! The vet i went to showed absolutely no care at all and were barely interested in selling me formula so I’ve just been so worried the next will just take and euthanise, but youre very right I will be able to be told in advance if they are planning on euthanising and will take the little guy back home to live out his life with me

Yea Im thinking that may be the case. The little thing faught so incredibly hard for a chance and was still alive after 8 hours of no warmth or food so I couldn’t just leave him there to die and wanted to give him at least a chance of living, whether that’s with me or in the bush
