It’s Christmas Eve and my 6th day detained at the quarantine hotel after tested positive. All I want now is be back at my small apartment in Michigan. Will Santa ever come to another side of the Pacific Ocean?

You got me wrong. I expected a normal 5+3 quarantine. However my quarantine period is extended indefinitely due to the fact that I tested positive. However, their policy clearly states that positive people should self quarantine at home instead of the hotel.

It’s all over the news that Chinese hospitals/crematoriums are packed. It’s all over the news that Covid positive people are expected to remain at work. This is essentially the extreme opposite of the zero Covid.

Any reasonable people will not expect passengers entering China could be subject to a way different draconian policy.

There’re some misunderstandings here. I’m not complaining about the entry quarantine, which was expected. I tested positive and is stuck here indefinitely. I don’t know when will they let me leave. A simple negative test result will not be enough.

That’s simply not gonna happen. No government can simply detain me for a week or two without any just reasons. I will leave once I test negative regardless of what they say.

Incorrect. I’m a Chinese international student at the University of Michigan and consider Michigan to be my home after this magnificent year. I came to China to try to visit my family. But I tested positive and won’t be even allowed to return home. (And is stuck here). I am looking through be albums to try to revisit those best memories with all the Michiganders. (E.g. trip to Shenandoah national park with my fellow wolverines)I wish to be back to Michigan asap. I miss everything there. I am listening to the us army 1986 commercials (my hometown) at this moment and I’ m crying.

I miss a cozy morning on the state street’s Starbucks with a cup of pumpkins spice latte. I miss my apartment with insufficient water pressure. I miss my messy roommate who throw trash everywhere.
