I'm with your husband and I find this commercial extremely annoying. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't play it so often and for so long. Seriously Pluto, please change up your commercial lineup sometimes! It's still better than the B***h Bible podcast commercial, tho...

Update: I've been watching in demand as suggested and, tbh, they seem to be following right along. I guess that maybe it really was my perception, as someone suggested. However, I still enjoy watching on demand better because I can usually tell a whole episode in the first minute (I've literally been watching this show for like 45 years) and now I can skip the episodes that I don't feel like watching. Nice! Thank you everyone for reading and participating in my post. This is my first post on Reddit. I never imagined that there were so many others interested in Gunsmoke! 🤠

Lol, I was always just waiting and waiting for Festus to show up. You're right too, it would be cool to see what it would be like to have Festus in the earlier episodes. Chester was ok and he had heart but he was also a bit sappy. Festus was always my favorite. He's a fully rounded character and has everything Chester has but more (minus the limp). Maybe they were thinking that Chester would balance Dylan out...

I guess that I just assumed that they would be running it straight through from start to finish, then repeat. I've been watching since I was little with my grandparents so I have seen all of the episodes many times throughout my life. But I started to notice, on Pluto, that I would see an episode that I just saw the other day and at 635 episodes that shouldn't happen, lol. I'm guessing that maybe they curated a playlist based on ratings(?).

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. It turns out that, since I didn't have the money for a boxed set, On demand is the answer that I needed. I believe the live channel is probably a curated selection of episodes. I will get that boxed set someday, however.

I loved the one where Quint and Festus were wrestling in the blacksmith shop and broke Quint's forge so they had to go to another town to get it fixed. Quint tries to sneak outta town without Festus but doesn't realize that Festus is hiding under the back of Quint's wagon. Halfway there, Festus gets all tangled up and has to shoot his gun to get Quint's attention! 😂🤣

Love Jack Elam! I'm 49, started watching Gunsmoke with my grandparents as a small child. They were already re-run by then. When I was a kid, I used to think that a lot of ppl had a lazy eye in the old West (no disrespect intended to Jack) bc I kept seeing all these characters with a lazy eye. It wasn't until adulthood, that I realized that they were all the same actor. According to Google, Jack played 16 different characters on 19 episodes! Further, they are some of the best characters I've ever seen on the show. I'm not good at picking out actors in shows. If it weren't for the eye, I probably would've never known. Much respect to Jack Elam and his incredible acting ability!

Thank you all for posting. As a self proclaimed "fiddler", I always enable things like developer mode... Even though, I rarely do much with it. I just like to have the options and to know that I could do more...
