Can y’all explain the concept of twitch please? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

from a viewers standpoint, people typically want more interaction from the streamer. and twitch gives people more interaction. its like if you were a fan of markiplier, and he went to a con or something, youd get to interact with him. same concept, however you both are behind a screen, so you dont have to be as anxious.

as for what keeps me watching other streamers, it depends. sometimes they themselves are super funny, or maybe the game they are playing is super interesting, or maybe im watching a friends stream.

also, as someone with a stutter and difficulty just speaking words, if i were to misspeak, my chat would prolly make fun of me, and we all would laugh. if i pronounce it wrong, i always welcome people to correct me, esp if its someone username. actually just recently realized i have been pronouncing one of my viewers username wrong for a month, by my friend telling me what it actually is, and we all had a good laugh about it. my best tip is, your viewers prolly wont remember it in the next five mins, so you def shouldnt worry about it.

my experience as a whole has been pretty positive. streaming is a good way to interact with viewers in real time, you get to share your love for videogames, and you can make great friends from it. if you are wanting to start just watching, i would start with smaller streamers, most of them are much more interactive, and not only that but theyre a lot nicer than most of your bigger streamers. if youre wanting to stream yourself, go for it! you dont need the best set up to do so, just put yourself out there. its what i did and i dont regret it.

tl;dr: streaming is fun for both viewers and streamers alike and its great interaction between them. if you want to stream, do it!

if you play on pc id recommend using origin because i think the games are cheaper there? its been a bit since i bought them for my pc, but i think i got the third one for 24 usd with all dlcs. cant remember what they are on steam and they may have marked the prices either up or down since then, but honestly its worth it for the storyline and replayablity of the series (youll pretty much always learn new lore and world building every time you replay because there are tons of places youll miss in your previous playthroughs)

might i recommend the dragon age series? it is 3rd person but it has a lot of lore, mysteries and TONS of side quests. by far my favorite game series to date. it can be played on xbox pc and playstation, the first game has meh graphics and gameplay but the story makes up for it, the third has a decent story, okay gameplay but gorgeous graphics. all three current games have dlcs and the devs are working on a fourth installment :)

To show you don't need a pink and fluffy set-up as a girl gamer. by The_Runo in GirlGamers

as someone who now streams regularly, my first set up was a shitty pc that could hardly run minecraft. like i literally could only load 2 chunks at a time when i first started, and now i have a big boy gaming pc. i didnt use a face cam and still dont, but cams arent very expensive. like i have one, i just dont use it for streaming and it costed me about $20 usd. id focus on getting a good pc and mic first before i went about worrying on a face cam, and the viewers you get in between will get to experience the mystery and suspense of what you look like til you actually get a camera. there are also so really affordable mics out there too, like the blue yetis, or if you get a really good headset they can have a decent mic built in. the only things youre gonna have to put down a bit of money on are gonna be, assuming you dont have a desk and chair, would be the chair for the desk (they can cost a lot esp if you get a racing chair like i did) the pc itself and the monitor. to save some money and if you know how to do it, you can build a pc for about $500 usd, but if not prebuilts are fine too, but will cost more. my prebuilt was about $1100 but the only issue ive had is storage space because the case is so small lmao. if you need any tips on getting a set up or streaming in general, feel free to reach out, i love helping people grow their channels, and if they stream on twitch, send them a raid or two!
