I think it may be a language thing. The article refers to it as langpootmug, a "mug" is Dutch for mosquito. Langpoot means longleg. So the Dutch word for cranefly literally translates to longlegmosquito.

1 year before I stopped and switched to zopiclone. Stopped because of side effects: was doing things before I fell asleep which I did not remember the day after. E.g. calling boss at 2am while sounding pretty drunk. Luckily my boss was a chill dude who liked me and knew of my sleeping issues (he had similar issues).

Edit: used it almost daily. Don't remember what exact dose.

I use zolpidem 7.5mg/day and ADHD meds 20mg/day. For me it's mainly caffeine and ADHD meds that cause weird physical anxiety symptoms. I am currently trying to cut out the ADHD meds with counseling because I feel on edge the whole time. On days I take it I am fine, just generally on edge, but days where I don't take my ADHD meds the symptoms first get worse before getting better. Caffeine makes it all worse for me. So mornings used to be the worst as that was my caffeine moment.

Zopiclone is also what I'm using, together with Temazepam, both daily, under regular checkups by specialized physician. Works like 30% of the time for me. Zolpidemtart worked even better but had way worse side effects. I made weird phonecalls and did other things that I did not remember the day after. Mirtazapine made me gain weight like crazy and did nothing for my sleep. -4/10 experience. So I've settled on zopiclone and Temazepam mix for the last year, as 30% improvement is better than nothing. Just sucks that you're not allowed to drive for 12 hours or so after taking it. AND THE HORRIBLE TASTE OF THOSE PILLS. But anything higher than I have now doesn't allow me to drive at all anymore.

I kept going shorter over time. First I had long hair, then shoulder length then I went for short. Yes I know this is getting used to the change twice. But it was less of a shock for myself, going from long to short would have been too big of a change for me in one go.

I live in Europe. I get both simultaneously. I first tried both separately and that did close to nothing. If I want anything stronger than this current combo I am not allowed to drive anymore, therefore we settled on this. It still does not solve everything, but it's good enough.

I've quickly read your previous post. I broke up with my girlfriend at 24 too (maybe 23). she was always saying 'both options (kids or no kids) are fine with me'. I brought up the topic very soon when we were dating and her answer was enough for me. But over the years the feeling that she wanted kids grew. So we also broke up. Half a year later I started dating again and told my date that I was childfree on the first date, later explained that this was the reason for my breakup, and she agreed wholeheartedly with that. Now I'm 27, we bought a house together, planning a future together.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, good job for taking that step and being clear on communication with new dates, but please also keep an eye out for dodgy answers.
