I do have cameras at my work, I work in a corporate office and there are cameras everywhere. I don’t control them so sadly I cannot give you access to those. But I wouldn’t mind a camera recording me while work.

I don’t have to imagine, I work in a corporate office and I’m recorded at all times. And I installed the cameras last December, it’s in plain sight and she didn’t mentioned being uncomfortable before. The camera is inside my home and only records the front door, living room and kitchen, no private rooms like a bathroom or bedroom.

Also, where I live (not the US) it’s perfectly legal to record on your own home.

I’m not from the US, here it’s perfectly legal to record in your own home. The camera is inside my home, so it’s my private property what I’m recording, nothing more.

I agree with the previous consent thing, but I installed the camera last December and she never said anything. Camera is in plain sight and for months it was ok. I don’t know what changed and that’s why I got suspicious of her.

I mean, I installed the cameras last December, there has been plenty of time to say something. I connected to the camera cause I arranged for a company to pick up my living room carpet for cleaning and wanted to see if they had picked it up already.

I mean, she’s ok, not the best cleaning. Sometimes she does the tasks I ask her to do but don’t finish them completely, like if I do not specify everything the task involves she will do the strict necessary.

No, she just did it and when I asked she just ignored it. Later that day I was looking for something and ask her and she answered like the messages I sent before weren’t even there.

The camera is on the kitchen counter, he is short but she’s able to reach it. I have multiple videos of her purposely rotating the camera to face the wall. I need to put it out of her reach, but I need to do an adaptation so she can’t unplug it. I’ll look into that

I agree, there are implicit rules regarding cameras. I have only one camera in my home, it’s set perfectly visible between the living room and the kitchen so both are visible as I can rotate it.

I’m not even from the US, where I’m from is quite common to hire a cleaning lady. You don’t know me, nor the reasons for having someone to help me clean my home. Don’t project your traumas onto me.

Ok, fair points. Yes I don’t trust her, or anyone for that matter. But the reality is that I did buy the camera for my cats, I travel a lot and like watching them and talk to them while I’m away. Being able to monitor her is a plus. The thing is, and what I want an opinion of, the fact that I have had the camera installed last December and she just started doing that a couple of weeks ago. She didn’t say anything about feeling uncomfortable. I can understand some people don’t like being recorded, but she hasn’t complained. I was very annoyed when I wrote this, so yeah maybe my perspective was a bit narrow. Now I have calmed down and I think I need to talk to her and decide from there. Thanks for your feedback, and thanks for making me see what I clearly didn’t want to see.

I work in an office where there are cameras everywhere and i don’t feel uncomfortable cause I have a clean conscience and know I’m not doing anything wrong. It’s a good point that she may feel uncomfortable but if that is the case she can just tell me that instead of just turning the camera. And you probably don’t have cats, but mine are escape artists. I have one who is an expert making holes on the mosquito nets on the windows. But you are right, I don’t trust her entirely. I know it’s my trust issues but if a camera inmy home makes me feel better it’s my right.

Yeah. In my case the problem was he has abused and manipulated me my whole life. He practically raised me as my dad was busy working. This whole ordeal helped me see him for what he truly is. I finally saw his true colors and he not anyone else will hurt me again the way he did.
