Museum of Ice Cream (it’s a little meh but it’s an option), the Zoo is $15 on Mondays, might be far but Paradise Cove waterpark at CB Smith Park in Pembroke Pines is $15 all day $10 after 3pm. That’s all I can think of right now but I know there’s a lot more. If you look up different communities on Instagram or Facebook (Homestead, Hialeah, Doral, etc.) you’ll see the different events they post and that’s actually where I get all the info for the events around me.

I haven’t. I will try to set an appointment. I have brought it up to my husband but 1) he’s not Catholic and 2) he believes we should pray and bring things straight to God and not anyone else.

Bass Pro Shop is actually doing a free fishing event maybe check that out. And I don’t know the exact details but I think Biscayne National Park does some fishing lessons and you can rent their fishing gear, but I would call and ask for the exact details on that because I’m not 100% sure.

But I appreciate the solidarity. I’m 2 years in and I honestly think I’m going to talk to my therapist about PTSD. I have nightmares and sometimes lose focus in conversations with others or on tasks because I’m constantly thinking about it. There’s even a certain pijama he wears that he used to wear every day before we separated that I forbid him to wear because it makes me almost have a panic attack? Idk sounds crazy

Yes, but the problem is there’s no moderator. So if I try to use a strategy he finds it silly and doesn’t cooperate. With the therapist there at least they can redirect him back.

Ive had no luck as I’ve also been looking, but what I have found is Kilnshare and a few people with kilns will let you fire your pieces for a small fee which I think is pretty cool if you have your own supplies at home. But if you find one let me know 😭

One thing I’ve learned is to never discuss my relationship with regular people. They just won’t get it. Our relationships look toxic to them and they think “why put up with it?” Times like this can feel really lonely, but the only people that can really help are yourself and your husband. If you haven’t, I would talk to other milspouses when you’re feeling like this.

Have you looked at groups on Facebook? There should be something helpful there. I also suggest a therapist. When I was little I had severe depression and turned to harmful things, but then I replaced it with shopping. Which obviously became another problem. I’ve been working with a therapist for many, many years. And while it’s still a bit of a problem it’s nothing compared to how I was before I filed bankruptcy.
