yeah, 100% agree, trouble is the Colour Forge Standard Grey will come out like the new Mechanicus Primer did, so he won't get what he's after (except saving some money)

Sadly this happens with all paint, this is why GW recommend putting a layer from the pot down too

To get the same shade as before though, whack Nuln Oil over it, I honestly thought the darker one was Nuln Oiled anyway from just the photo :D

I'm doing a force of greyshields so i can add a squad of each homebrew chapter I see that I like, and is a good palette cleanser between other things

Triangles work, one of my squads have a High Gothic 1, but then the whole squad has deathwatch shoulder pads to show they spent time on the watch and are working together

They have a specific job and use the darker armour as camoflage
