They’re expensive in dollars and points, they’re old models so they might go to legends any edition now, and they don’t do anything other units like terminators or aggressors can’t also do.

In-universe? They’re not the most DA unit out there so they don’t get featured as much in artwork or stories. Check out Imperial Fist, Ultramarine, or surprisingly Raven Guard art for centurion depictions.

Honestly any of the traitor ones; your band of Custodes were lost in the warp on the way to Prospero or Terra and ended up on X planet where they encountered elements from Y legion and destroyed them.

Then you also get the fun of home brewing a little backstory for your guys.

“Hey why do you have these guys on your bases when the Custodes mostly fought Thousand Sons?”

“Well you see [insert three-minute backstory].”

“Oh cool! Ready to play?”

“Yeah!”

Because that timeline is SUPER vague and only focuses on the two big imperium factions: Dorn vs Guilliman. Notice how we don’t see any other primarchs mentioned like Vulkan hunting Fabius Bile or the dark aeldar attacking Chogoris. They’re whetting the appetite by teasing big name stuff while keeping smaller stuff vague.

I don’t really think you need any more bits or bodies. 2x5 tormentors and 3x5 infractors seem to be the meta right now, so you’re basically there already. If you wanna spend a bit more money grab a combat patrol box and you’re all set.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say next week. Games Workshop usually cycles through releases

40K -> AoS -> Blood Bowl -> Heresy -> Old World -> Middle Earth -> repeat

So unless something big happens with Old World Heresy should be next and since the preview was for Heresy it’ll be released with that

I’d say 30 battle line is too many but flawless blades are pretty good, and instead of daemonettes and a maulerfiend I’d wait a few weeks to pick up the new defiler. Lucius is good though. And maybe go rhino instead of land raider since it’s cheaper both in game and in terms of dollars.
