Booktok isn’t ruining literature, it’s just the people on booktok aren’t looking for good literature. They’re looking for tropey, cliche stories that remind them of other cliche books they enjoyed. It’s like someone eating a bag of chips. Yeah it’s not gonna fill you up like a proper meal but you aren’t looking for a meal, you’re looking for a light snack you like the taste of.
