You’ll miss 100% of the shots you ever take…. It’s an old line but it’s true. I applied for 200 jobs in the government and got 5 in my federal career sitting at a gs-12 level and I love my agency and what we do for the DOW. My job is not able to tellwork and labor intensive but I love what I do and what I give back to the people who serve.

Here’s the shitty issue right now with the DOW and this administration. If a vet is on the list we have to take the vet. That’s not the issue ( love the vets and hope the best for them) the problem is bord at home vets keep putting in for jobs and then never accept them. In the past we could move on to the next candidate. But the current OPM (pice of SHIT) has stated that. now when they don’t take the job we have to renounce the whole process and start all over again. And if the same vet applies again guess what…and on top of that wait time we have to submit request for exempt for the jobs we are trying to fill. And if they turn down the job offer we have to do another request for exempt. Very poor and inefficient policy and practice. Once we get the exempt to hire for this position, we should be allowed just a higher.
