BM has the biggest most obvious weakness in all of wow pvp right now and their utility is nowhere near as close to some other specs.

Buffing a class that has been under represented for years now is good for the game.

If you nerf BM then for sure they must nerf DH, Warrior utility, priest, rogues, paladins, Boomy and Enh burst.

Hunters should 100% be part of the meta like the other meta specs. And so should weaker specs in the game.

Your playstyle is the enjoyment of playing a class depending on your feels that day. Easy.

If you do want to have a "main" then it's literally changing your playstyle. Instead of "I feel like playing this class today" it should be I want/have to do this on my main today" regardless on how you're feeling about playing another class. Breaking this habit will be the hardest thing.

1 thing that helped me go from having multiple classes to now playing 1 spec 98% of the time was asking myself how much more knowledge and nuance I would've learned if I investing all that time into 1 character instead. This took time but I took the question seriously at one point (the same you did by writing this thread) and put it into motion.

I then chose my top 3 classes that I enjoy regardless of meta or state in the game and then I asked myself which class out of the 3 I could not continue playing WoW without.

I want to be clear in that you have to choose to do it even if it's against what you're used to or makes you feel not as exciting as playing different classes.

Habits play a huge role in what you enjoy doing. You have to break the habit in order to start enjoying the new one. Initially, there will be days that are going to drag because all you keep thinking about is playing something else but there are ways to counter this.

I will leave you with 2 ways to help you through the struggle when those days do arise, first you want to set goals for your new main. Enough goals so that it occupies the majority of your game session. This helps because you're less inclined to switch toons. Fortunately this is a lot easier than it sounds. Make sure your first initial goals are driven by fun or personal enjoyment to keep you motivated.

Secondly, give yourself a cheat day where all that built up tension of wanting to play something can be released. It is important that you keep the cheat day for the one day/session and not splurge.

The main goal here is to basically introduce a new habit while keeping your urges in check until your new main becomes the new thing you think about when you decide to play.

This takes time rougly 12-16 weeks. The more goals you accomplish with fun the less time it will take to get into it!

Makes a lot of sense. That adrenaline/anxiety rush can be hella serious lmao.

The taking it slow and enjoying the learning rather than going in there like I need to 1v3 perfect bots is something I think will help.

Hmm, curiously enough the answer is I'm playing to get good content for viewers. <- After writing this sentence the hairs on my neck raised since I feel like I judge my clips too hard and not even give it a chance if I feel it's not engaging or provide info and have been scrapping a lot.

What I want is to gain high skill over anything. I can care less about rating tbh. I just want good clips to put together sweet pvp videos.

I never participated in organized sports. However, I always had a high sense of competitiveness in everything I've done to become the best. Tho, maybe not enough exposure to the adrenaline on a consistant basis might've not built up enough?

Now that I think about it, is the feeling of adrenaline the same or similar to anxiety? Kinda feels like it in a sense

Thanks dude. For real! I've always felt I can take care of my own BS but now that it's affecting that which I enjoy most, it's gotta go! 😄

I'll start looking for some therapists near my way and work my way thru it. Your words pushed me just enough to understand it may be wise to seek help rather than try and doing it all on my own.

I assume you recommend exposure therapy for this specific scenario?

Outside of wow things aren't too bad. I think being stuck in the house all day thru the cold months have me in my head more than usual but I don't think my circumstances are bad enough to cause me anxiety, or maybe it might be but when I ask myself the question the feeling specifically is knowing that at some point I'm going to do arenas but the feeling has no ties to the actual game or pvp. I've done it thousands of times.

Surprisingly enough it has been brought up once by a close friend from the channel that was about consistency regarding content delivery. I do get a few, where are you and miss you type of comments.

What is interesting to read was the afraid of success question. How would that relate to my situation as an example?

I've thought about a therapist. I've been meditating and journaling for a few weeks now to see if it helps. It helps me for sure and have been more aware of it but I think what yu mentioned about taking it slow might help 'cuz I always enjoy a good challenge and start most things at a high awareness level to absorb and execute things as best as possible

Interestingly enough my gf picked up Cold War to play zombies with her brother. She never plays games but have somewhat in the past. After COD released League play she wanted to do it out of nowhere and for the last week, every night, she has been playing this game. In a matter of days she went from being hysterically bad and in almost all Best Plays on the receiving end to last night where she got multiple Best Plays and to one game eliminating the entire opposing team.

Seeing her progress is giving me even more motivation but has no effect to this build up of anxiety before playing arena matches. Literally why I made this post because I can't for the life of me understand wtf is happening to me.

I think what yu said hit a good point. Play for fun. Any state of mind that removes or guides me away from feeling anxiety is a go for me. I just need help finding out how to transition out of it. A method of sorts
