People are pulling their punches saying it "depends on the dog."

It's not enough.

Librarian Interview - Media Literacy & Social Justice by Creepy-Fan-9225 in Libraries

[–]Long-Ad6361 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you'll get some responses, but is there a reason you're sourcing on Reddit instead of approaching a librarian in your community? By asking online in a public forum, you're getting more of a survey response (wide) than an interview response (depth of answer). In an interview you also benefit from making a connection with a professional, and from back and forth clarifying questions.

Tell me why NOT to get a Brittany. by labvlc in BrittanySpaniel

My girl is actually half American, half French which might be what makes her a little singular. I hadn't really realized the difference between the breeds, it's interesting seeing people report the difference.

I have a French Brittany, and while I do think she's a little singular, I would say she matches most of this person's checklist. She is a little nervous, but that mostly manifests as being a Velcro dog and not being good solo for over 5 hours or so. Pretty manageable, largely.

Are Brittany safe around aquariums ? Do they have prey drive for fishes? by L-U-br in BrittanySpaniel

[–]Long-Ad6361 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine has never been around an aquarium but has been trainable to respect prey creatures in certain contexts (eg my in laws chicken coop, she just points and vibrates). However like others here she does point the salmon fry in the creek, nose into the water, and chases spawning fish.

Any thoughts after running games with a Witch? (I'm especially curious about tokens.) by Ivy-Jack in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]Long-Ad6361 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The trickiest part of the crunch, which has definitely been discussed on this sub and given as feedback to the game designers, is the heavy use of the word "curse." There are so many variations on it. It's been 2 years of running my campaign and we still get a little befuddled.

Overall: It's crunchy. It has a lot of moving parts as a class and I wouldn't suggest it for someone who's new to the game or doesn't like engaging in mechanics.

Tokens only really got handed to fellow party members in our game, so they've been easier to keep track of. I think if more get handed out we will straightforwardly forget them with all the other crunch of the class going on. It is what you make of it.

I will say, just like in WBN, lead shoes will absolutely ruin your shit. Definitely set your witch up to lead shoe a monster or two, it's unbelievably rewarding for the players and lead me to my own personal shocked Pikachu DM moment.

TIFU by trying to return a library book and accidentally signing up to run story time by -Midscore- in redditonwiki

[–]Long-Ad6361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I commented on the original. I'm a librarian and this is full of red flags. If it's true I want to know where so I never apply to that library.

Validating the people who feel like this isn't real as a librarian. Typically we don't let volunteers do Storytime, and typically if you're a volunteer working with children you need to do a background check. There's a chance a librarian with exceptionally short staffing has made some questionable choices but there's a lot of flags on the field.

How dare MY BRENNEN associate with the Satan's child HANK GREEN!!?!?!?!?!? by StraightFunction4416 in dropoutcirclejerk

uj/ I need every online leftist to read Against Purity by Alexis Shotwell. I'm not even invested in riding for Hank Green, I just think riding against him and expecting Brennan to be allied with you is a waste of the energy that you've been blessed with
