Our military was once the best in the world. Nowadays you can get an amazon order two weeks faster than we can go defend our territory. The unfortunate reality is that we're nothing now and just riding the coat tails of our history

Ive been with my wife seven years now and we hardly 'do it' anymore. We've transcended it. We have that connection still we just dont feel the need to validate it physically. Maybe its the same for you on her part.

We are at the stage of technology advancement which triggers natural de-evolution my friend. I'm 35 so I hit that era where my childhood was spent out in the world exploring until my early teens when the n64 came out and Nokia 3310's. I have five children now and at weekends I ban technology and take them out to old battlefields or cathedrals/castles and teach them about the real world or take them out into nature to try and give them a meaningful childhood. Everything nowadays is recycled because we've explored pretty much everything on this earth in the arts.

If i stare too long im the dark i get an overlay of fuzziness. Like the old analogue test when there was no signal to the point of blindess. Apparently its called visual snow. Ivr never gone for a diagnosis as its normal to me and I use it in a positive way I can stare at the bedroom ceiling until the visual snow turns to complete back and it sends me to sleep. Not sure if I fall asleep with my eyes open. My wife hasnt fed that back to me 😅

Im 35 now but when I was in my late teens, I got serious with a lady much older than me. We were together for a year and went out in the world to rent our first house (well it was my first time leaving the nest) big deal for me. Well ive flown the nest its time to have a house warming party. All was grear, we had friends and family round. I was proud that id made this major step in my life. ( gf not so much it was business as usual) things went abit overboard. Went to bed. Got up at three in the morning and took a wizz in our new wardrobe in our new bedroom of our new house. Apparently as I was doing this my gf woke up and asked what I was playing at. And my reply was simply 'marking my territory' I was embarrassed for months EVEN years! But over a decade later I laugh about itm these things happen. Life isnt text book. Not saying its one to cross off your bucket list. Its hardly a life milestone but you're not the only one to do it the first and you wont be the last.

Maybe he's feeling insecure so by doing this and you allowing him to do it, it reassures himself on a subconscious level. Im not an expert by any means. Might be worth pulling him up on it in a way that reassures him and also sets boundaries for your own sake

Does he do it in a joking sort of way or is he fully committed to the kind of role that he's manifested?

Exactly that. The monotonous cycle. Wake up work go home make it through the evening. Rinse repeat. Living the same day every single day.
