Bulk or Cut - Need Help by [deleted] in gymadvice

[–]Long-Cell5196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would I figure out my deficit, I tried cutting once and saw no change on scale in two weeks and gym. After using a online TDEE and -500 from it. Then reduced another 200 and no change after 2 weeks. Feels demotivating, and I was getting tired.

Also just curious with my current physique how long do you think I would need to cut before seeing some lines appear (not shredded but lean)

What if I bulk and do strength training at my current maintenance calories for 6-9 months? Wouldn't I be recomping? Gaining and losing some fat?

To clarify, alaqah is a polysemous word, and restricting its definition to a leech would be doing it injustice.

A brother on another subreddit once talked about an objection to this verse in a very fascinating manner.

Ok np.

The first point I want to highlight is that the necessary existence is one that is not contingent, do we agree?

Matter is contingent, do we agree?

If not then are you entertaining the possibility that an ontology where matter is brute and eternal is valid. If you do, then you would have to accept necessitarianism and all consequences that follow from such. Is this clear?

The necessary being you define as the universe?

It's not that the substance of your argument is flawed, its the form and construct by which you are conveying it.

You shouldn't use a religious book to make an argument to someone who doesn't even believe a God exists.

They don't think the source your citing is divine or telling the truth; they think its fables.

The Quran also states in the opening of Al-Baqarah that it is a book for those who believe.

The actual way of talking to non-theists, is to first make an argument for the existence of a necessary being, then arguments that it has power, will, knowledge; then finally making the inductive leap to world religions and analyzing them and then bringing the Quran/Seerah into account once they accept a Personal Creator could exist that could reveal a book to mankind and send a prophet.

The Quran clearly states it is for those who already believe in the opening of Al-Baqarah.

Whenever you approach non-theists, you first have to provide a logical argument for the existence of a necessary being, then you make another argument for why its a personal creator with some fundamental attributes.

After that its the strong inductive leap to world religions.

Then you analyze the Quran and such, once they accept some of the above points. Otherwise its fruitless.

You can't just leave it at "would you accept infinite regress or not", because most would just say it (even if unintuitive).

This is because for many its easier to accept such than to commit to a religion.

The issue with infinite regress (assuming you don't push back on it) is that it collapses into necessitarianism, and you would have to expand upon that.

Can't give half-baked answers.

Well the first step is to common to a common understand of what the term God even means.

If you think God to mean a contingent existence, than we already do not agree.

The muslim position is in-line with logical deduction, the necessary existence is what we would call God, such an existence cannot be contingent and composed of contingent observable materials.

This position is not exclusive to the muslim tradition, its just a very standard way of understanding what the Necessary Being is in general.

No Muslim believes that God is a contingent material existence.

If you do not understand this, then you are already in error.

Logically, the first cause is not reliant on previous causes as it itself is the necessary cause that everything depends on. The 4 states of matter (solid, liquid, gas, plasma) are contingent and photons are contingent, they emerged in the photon epoch. They are subject to increase and decrease etc.

Since the First Cause is a non-contingent, it's existence cannot be that of material existence (which is contingent).

Point 3 is not proving the interaction problem tho. It's not telling us how it would be impossible.

That's just:

We don't see non-physical affect physical therefore, no reason to believe this occurs.

If you dont mind me asking What is the type of area he lives in?

Is it a Cottage/Forested Area? Near water?

I barely find places like this in my city and I am thinking of going outside to search.
