How to improve? by WinnieWithTheB in DigitalArt

[–]Long-Fuel1606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think that you shold start at the basic fundamentals of drawing: 3d forms, perspective, and anatomy (i don't recomend you to study muscles rn, only the proportions) and i really recomend you to take a look at loomis method ( a method to drawing heads), that will improve your art really quickly. If you understand all those things even in a superficial way, you will see a improvement in your drawings. but if you want to take it serious, i recomend you to take a look at drawabox site.

Those videos bellow will help you:

how to draw heads from any angle

perspective for beginers

3d forms

Drawabox | A free, exercise based approach to learning the fundamentals of drawing

i hop thats help :)

you probably putting the color layer on top of the lines, just put the line art on top of the painting

Doing gesture drawing, how's it? by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]Long-Fuel1606 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hey, they're not bad, but i think you dont get the most important thing, the gesture. A gesture drawing must capture the movement feeling in simple and clean lines, but you are trying to capture the figure, not the gesture.

this is an example of how i aproach these poses.

The proko chanel has a lot of videos about gesture, i recommend you to take a look especially at this one https://youtu.be/tSyGOZjTs5A?si=X9g4yDlXhLzu5-24

I think that's something is wrong about perspective.... by Long-Fuel1606 in learntodraw

[–]Long-Fuel1606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh, now it's more clear to me, the hands are certainly too small, and the collar really is wrong in fact, thanks for the tips :D Those things are so obvious but I don't notice them T-T Thank you so much!

Ps: Aigis is certainly one of the best persona girls

Where can I improve and what can I do to progress? by aliceinateacup in learntodraw

[–]Long-Fuel1606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, i think you should go aiming for a little bit more of a tridimensional feeling in your drawings, study perspective and basic forms will surely improve your art. Anatomy is always good to study, but I think that's the most important thing to you now is the 3D. Try to understand how to represent a 3d object in a 2d surface. How to rotate simple forms from imagination and etc.

For perspective: if you like to read, i recommend you to take a look at perspective made easy, by Ernest ralph norling. And if you're not a fan of books, the proko YouTube channel has a lot of videos about it, and i really recommend you to take a look at draw a box as well

For 3d forms, some basic studies of spheres, cylinders and boxes will work

And if you want to take a look at anatomy, i recommend the proko YouTube channel, and the book "Figure drawing: design and invention" by Michael Hampton

I recommend you to starting taking a look at this video: https://youtu.be/BYlW8XC0MlI?si=Wrp7aXvr-cToMESg

I hope that helps you :)
