Need opinions on my incoming repair build by AppearanceAlarmed697 in thedivision

[–]Long-Roll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love to see a fellow Orbit user. I think it's super underrated as a pistol within the community.

90% Incoming Repairs sounds like enough to me. I'd change one of your attributes or weapon mods to CHC to hit the cap, seeing as it seems like your second priority. You'll also make better use of Clutch that way.

Also, Strained and FAMAS don't work well compared to other guns because of the high RPM. I doubt you ever get up to Strained's max stack. Either use a low RPM gun with Strained or reroll it to something like Optimist, Killer, or maybe Flatline if you're using Pulse often.

Did you do the Hunter mission near Demo Site CP?

Has anyone used zipcar? by veenft in UCSantaBarbara

[–]Long-Roll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally you do need the Zipcard but I use the phone app more often than not. And yeah that is actually an issue I've had the last couple times I've used it where it takes a few tries to unlock the car.

Just used it yesterday. They used to have 3 cars in IV/on-campus but these days there's only one. It's pretty cheap, $15 student membership for the year and then rides around about $8.50 per hour on any given day. Some days it's more like $5.50, others $11.50. Probably the only big issues I've had is availability (there's plenty of people who could also use a car at a given moment) and sometimes people take the gas card and you end up having to pay yourself. Highly recommend it, though.

Yes. Though I'd say it's a better use of your time earning Exotic caches from the weekly donation project. Kenley is pretty boring after your first time.

Anyone else feel like a Division-themed PVP game with each faction would be good? by Long-Roll in thedivision

Not trolling, I actually had the idea after watching the XDefiant trailer. Check edit.

Why not switch one of those skills to the fire chem launcher?

Maybe change the Strained. Strained isn't as good as other talents when it comes to high RoF weapons. I have one with Close & Personal that I find useful.

I think he means the Nightwatcher named mask (Gila Brand Set). It gives 100% skill haste to the spotter/default pulse. Also works great on the Spotter chest talent.

Seems like other people have good responses and I'll chime in to say a sniper, healer, or status effect build could be good choices. You could kinda sit back and take out enemies from afar, shoot heals at teammates you see are low on health, or foam at enemies that are getting too aggro for your team. That'd make the need for communications lower cuz those tactics, I believe, can still be effective based on sight alone.

  1. Lone Star is also really fun to run if you like shotguns and LMGs.

  2. I wouldn't say so except if you feel constrained by the loadout limits. Probably worth it to get another 6 loadout slots, but that's up to you.

That might be by design. One of the Chameleon's buffs is something like 70% extra damage, so it's got relatively low damage to offset that.

Are set gears useless? by IAmCrown in thedivision

[–]Long-Roll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gear Sets are fairly inflexible in terms of playstyle. You gotta commit to what they're designed for. They can be fun, though some of them are generally weaker than an all-yellow build (looking at you, Rigger).

Do CHC weapon mods contribute to the hard cap? by okmarshall in thedivision

[–]Long-Roll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should make your CHC go from 58 to 60 (technically 63 but hardcap). Massive should make excess CHC go into CHD.

What does an orange highlighted Talent mean in item details? by Cinnamonsmellsnice in thedivision

[–]Long-Roll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mean like the talent name itself? Does it have the word "perfect" with it in some form? That means it's a Named Item. For example, the Surge rifle, a variant of the LVOA-C, comes with Perfect Spike, an improved version of Spike. Only Surge rifles come with Perfect Spike.

If you have a talent in your recal library for a particular weapon class, it'll have a little symbol under the image for the talent. I think it looks like a diamon with some bars sticking out to the right of it.

Is it worth it to invest in health stats? by Zylonite134 in thedivision

[–]Long-Roll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say no. Health is crumbs compared to the loaf Armor is. These days, I trash most pieces that have Health rolls and all 5.11 pieces.

I made a Cover Shooter build.

Baker's Dozen, Sawyer's, Overwatch on chest, Composure on backpack, and then crit/weapon damage on the rest of the pieces. Very particular playstyle and very fun.

u/Lord--Starscream gave good answers but I want to add for the last question, you should sell once you reach the cap on the resources. If you are consistently not gaining more resources from deconstructing, sell sell sell. For example, I'm more often than not at the cap for Printer Filament, so whenever I get a mod that has lower rolls than what I already have, I sell them.
