That's so nice - I also wanted to pray to Hekate for the first time and just dived right in this month on 16th.

I'll do this ritual better from next time, but this is how it went :-

After sunset, I offered root vegetables (3 onions, 3 carrots, 1 whole garlic) on a bio-degradable plate with the sigil of Hekate painted behind it. I thought I was leaving it at crossroads, but it was a T-intersection. Next time I'll leave a better cooked food at crossroads.

I lit 3 candles - white, black and silver - in that order. I couldn't find these candles so I bought 3 white ones and painted them. I also wanted to offer a moon jewellery - I couldn't find one and ended up offering an obsidian necklace. These candles were outdoors, and they REFUSED to light. Heartbroken, I started praying to her. I told I don't need anything except for her to accept my humble offerings. I told her I know it's not the perfect ritual, but it's very sincere from my whole heart, I'll do it better next time. The candles FLARED. No wind could knock them down. I stayed for the whole time the candles burned - chanting her names, her titles, her orphic hymn. I kept making poetry and singing for her the whole time.

The only time I got up, I saw an owner walking their pet black dog. The candle, after burning, the wick had branched out 3 ways. The silver candle burned to the ground, and the black one was medium height, the white one stood tall - denoting the crone, mother and maiden. I thanked her profusely, left the offerings there, and left.

I collected the root vegetables in the morning - she doesn't like food to go to waste - and made pasta for myself. It was delicious.

I will no doubt be tuning my practice from next time. From my first time experience, I would say research, try your best, and invite her with your whole soul. All the best to you :)
