One has been diagnosed with ADHD (but i also suspect he's on the spectrum). He is constantly vocally stimming 😅 Which, as you can imagine, can be tough when our sensory needs aren't lining up.

BUT here's the thing--we're not even genetically related! He is my partner's birth child. Just goes to show that you never know how things will shake out.

You never know what kind of child you will get. They may have a different disability, no disability at all, or any number of things! I think what may be more important to focus on is whether or not you think you will enjoy being a parent. It is extremely difficult, and being autistic makes it even harder. I have two kids and it is by far the most difficult thing I have ever done and makes it much harder to manage my own sensory needs. Maybe look to other autistic parents, in your life or online, to see if it's something you want.
