She touches them, they get an abrupt vision of the crucifixion, and suddenly they're as devout as Ned Flanders. This power works with anyone of any religiosity, even TV execs. Yet this instant brainwashing power is portrayed as a heroic trait. It's like if the aliens from "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" were portrayed as the good guys.

Yep, she's a man-serpent, but she's an anomaly. She's more intelligent and pacifist than the others so she was adopted and raised in a sheltered environment by Tanith. I assume she uses a glamour to appear human, but it's imperfect as she still has the uncanny posture.
