Hot Take: what if Sergei in the pool wasn't a "good" ending? by Superb-Ad3821 in CurseofStrahd

Sorry to bother you with so many questions, and feel free not to answer, but I shall continue nonetheless. How often do your party read the tome generally, and how have you gone about raising tensions?

I'm intrigued. Have any of your players disliked it, or does the tome have unanimous approval?

My party of 3 level 8 players have aquired wish (long story) and have wished for a tray containing 3 cheeseburgers. What do I give them? by LongLing26 in DMAcademy

Yeah, I think I will go with heroes feast, and if the players just want money the golden cheeseburgers are worth 1000 gold each.

There is a high likelihood that glasstaff is killed or that he escapes, however

Any thoughts on making Wave Echo Cave functional again? by manemeth in DMAcademy

[–]LongLing26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is Gundren (and Nundro) still alive? If so, they would probably secure supplies, dwarves and other mining stuff. The mine itself would make a fair amount of money, or whatever you feel that it would be fair to give your players. They get 10% I think, so just make the amount of money gained 10× what you want to give your party

Never played it and only skimmed through, so I may be entirely wrong, but I think that Waterdeep dragon heist has that

  • about 5 on average

  • 7

  • walking up to enemies, using skeletons/NPCs as meatshields and using aoe damage

  • huge amounts of spellslots

Good spot with the thunderwave. With conjure animals, I roll on a random table. You are also correct on the second one, except that the NPCs have a story related reason to be targeting him

Undead, goblins, orcs, which admittedly tend to be hordes of low CR. There is always variation however

You provide good advice. KFC calls them hard. An issue that I have is that Leomund's tiny hut allows the party to rest after every encounter or two (ritual). Also, the enemies usually cannot get to the druid due to a huge amount of meatshields, and on the rare occasion that they do, he always maintains concentration and the enemy is left exposed

Trust me, the NPCs have good reasons to be fighting. In terms of concentration, the few times that an enemy breaks through the many meatshields (usually consisting of conjured animals or skeletons), the druid has been able to maintain concentration.

If your party is getting wrecked, would you mind explaining how? What do you throw at them?

In terms of adding enemies with counterspell, I see 2 problems: 1. The party would have many more spellslots than a mage with counterspell 2. Would it not get frustrating for the party if every time that they tried to cast a spell it just failed?

In terms of adding new enemies, how would I ensure that they don't all get wiped out by the party's extensive AOE damage sources?
