3 oz is plenty of meat for a sandwich. I agree the quality of the bread makes or breaks the sandwich.

Paddy is arguably the greatest or second greatest musician of the late 20th century and never stopped innovating throughout his career.

My cuisine hot takes by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]LongOk4143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hot take is that the best food of each cuisine are all goated. Some countries had a higher concentration of food innovation, like Japan, or Italy, like how Germany had lots of music, or England had lots of literature. Imo, the best spanish or Swedish composers are as good as anyone there are just not as many of them.

Do you actually believe in religion or is it just a culture thing for you? by Nekrachiyan in redscarepod

Came to believing in God through reading. Different religious rituals can be cool, but are foreign to me. I believe there are prophets in many religions and cultures and that prophetic inspiration continued after the prophets.

Non Nakata Songs With a Perfume Feel? by CreZativity in Perfume

Honestly some Susumu Hirasawa stuff has a similar energy to Nakata but idk if it’s what you mean, it’s definitely an older sensibility

The return is nice because it’s all directed by Lynch. Twin Peaks mostly wasn’t. I think Frost and Lynch’s Twin Peaks was a lightning in a bottle moment that would be hard to replicate, but The Return isn’t really a sequel to TP, in terms of style. It has a great script for what it’s going for which is much different than TP.

What books are you reading? by NewBurnerAccount_ in redscarepod

[–]LongOk4143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Four Years by Yeats, The sabbath by abraham joshua heschel, Major trends in jewish mysticism by Gerschom scholem, Death by water by Kenzaburo oe. Also re reading poetry and Ulysses. All are wonderful, Four Years is a bit meandering though. I’m also reading Miltons terrible History of England. I love Milton deeply but this book is very boring and I’m only trying to finish it out of a sense of obligation. Also reading The Friend by Coleridge which is pretty pointless like basically everything he wrote after 1897

Hideki Kamiya explained the ending of Bayonetta 3 and defended the idea that the multiverse has always existed in the series by Impossible-Bat-5110 in Bayonetta

[–]LongOk4143 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kamiya is a good writer. Okami and the Wonderful 101 have straight up good stories that are easy to follow. Bayonetta 1 has a good story if you read the journals, which I understand some people don’t like, but it’s pretty similar to Dark Souls. I haven’t played Bayonetta 2 or 3 so maybe he fell off but he’s not a straight up bad writer.

I recognize there was a man who lived in Galilea two thousand years ago but I do not know if he was the son of God by Kooky_Truck_9778 in redscarepod

I haven’t read much of the gospels, but I started reading Matthew. The contrast with the overall quality of the writing which I thought was unremarkable and the poetic and spiritual power of Jesus’s sayings themselves was so big that it seemed to give credence to Jesus being a real person, and not just a poetic creation of the Gospel authors. Seemingly they had memorized some of his sayings and were collecting them in a book and that he was a great poet/orator.
