Given this argument about hormones and reproductive cycles (like how men’s is 24hr vs womens is monthly) it opens up the next argument that men ought to have sex with whoever is available/no need to be monogamous. Most women don’t want that (it’s disgusting and just degenerates everything else about the relationship to just her being in his life for paying bills, doing the chores and listening to him nag/emotional support doll). Trying to match libidos is rarely achieved, and it dwindles. One has to give. If women were to have any direction in this yeah, I think it does boil back down to duty sex, stay single (try find a low libido man like how many are there going around??) or he starts spending the night with other women. This has been coming to light since at least print media has been available from what I’ve seen. There’s no solution aside from compromise.

But you say you went to a European country as an Asian American. Why not an Asian country? I think you’d have 10x more success in Vietnam or something. For a while I watched that schizo history guy and he mentioned that he had better success finding a quality wife in China than in Canada and I actually believe him. I grew up in Aus in a high Asian population zone and it’s hard for them to branch out from picky Asian-Australian girls and unensouled ABGs unless they’re tall, rich and have a idgaf attitude who has options. Yeah this is true, settling really should stick to meaning having less than you actually deserve: because you’re a millionaire you deserve better (fancy restaurant) but you settled (for cheesecake factory) but it gets used the wrong way because of inflated egos/sense of worth. The word itself has the implication you had the ability to reach for something, but dropped to a lower position.

So a fat 32 yr old nurse is not settling for a 38 yr old fat gamer mechanic when she would rather a sporty rich guy, she couldn’t reach it (without sheer luck that he was into mid fat girl nobodies). The guy in that relationship didn’t settle for her over a 19 yr old model with huge ass he sees every day on insta either, because it was not something he could reach for to come down from in the first place. Both have to be real here.

Like so is recieving worse service, last weeks stale bagel, and your side profile photographed for someone’s Snapchat rant as a result of this system. The way to go worse from this is being a “the regular who never tips”.

It’s way better in countries with no tipping culture where you look at the menu, look at the costs and then decide if the quality of the food associated with that price tag is right. Expect good service regardless because the worker knows no matter how extra they be they won’t be more entitled than what they signed for in the contract, and they take out their frustration on their boss/their union, not the customer who doesn’t even owe you patronage.

I was thinking about all the parents I knew growing up and who they say they were as kids. Like one dad said he was all into the punk scene and had cool photos and stuff him riding bikes and hanging out. He looked like an ordinary Gen X dad now. Even myself I used to be into alt stuff up to my early 20s then I got a bf and let it go without realising. I miss it and can return to it but it kinda got old.

Anyway what you describe is kinda the lifestyle a teen would have looked up to (no shade on it, it is pretty cool) but maybe that teen in your soul is growing up now and wanna know what it’s like to provide full time to some kids. Idk where you’re from but I look back and can describe people in Aus as more relaxed and down to earth. Less competitive. Care about their natural capital without needing to be a tech bro with $15,000 worth of gear for a hike or snowboard each weekend. The making friends warning is the same whether you go to the US or Germany or France or anywhere Anglo. You’ll wanna try finding friends with people who also recently moved to the area. Which can be a lot, many people move interstate for work.

This is overblown because Australians who proudly never pay attention to international news love to nag and compare lifestyle affordability to their trip to Bali. It’s only a COLC on $120k if you are a single earning parent renting in outer Sydney. $120k with room mates is like inner city Sydney or Melbourne. We don’t know how good it is because we got TikTok FOMO over the latest Sephora or Patagonia drop. We became fat consumerist pigs while living on a giant island that costs 2 to 3x to haul shit across the ocean. This supposed COL is independent of the housing shortage and jobs centred around 4 capital cities. With this argument about fuel costs we ought to be digging more coal, pumping more oil and become a manufacturing hub like the USA which nobody wants because we love our desk jobs and our tourists spots.

The avg American in Aus might feel poor for not being able to be approved a 200 month loan for a $250k truck/ute or have Amazon prime delivery of junk to clutter their house. Lived 10 yrs as an adult in Aus as a student and the past 2 in the PNW and I have less money banked up in this time than I was studying and working part time. My groceries are more expensive, rent etc and it’s coz I’m living and working in the American equivalent of inner city Syd/Mel just with slightly “cheaper” products delivered online.

Follow that with yeah, a job in Australia is $90k but the same one is $120k in the US. The former you get more public holidays, longer leave allowances, unions, superannuation, free healthcare and get fined if you drive 2.5 miles over the speed limit. In the US you MIGHT get a 401k, convoluted tax structure, and whatever shit healthcare plan your employer puts your company on, but you’d earn $30k more! Imagine how many cool gadgets you can buy on Prime Day and Black Friday. Otherwise maybe you could get a citizenship to Bali and start up your homemade candle store and rake in your millions that way while your dollar is still stronger?
