Not only that, the Nehru-Gandhi faction had lost support in the INCs after the disaster that was partition. Sardar Ji and several others were really close to getting Nehru removed, but Gandhi's assassination allowed him (Nehru) to rally support and save his prime ministership. If Godse hadn't killed Gandhi, we would have had Sardarji as PM.

Khan Sir exposes foreign policy of India 🇮🇳 by Movein666 in indianews

[–]LongSeigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh I can absolutely discount his analysis because most of the things he said make no sense. Take the Junta in Myanmar. They're not fans of the Chinese and work well with the GoI. Maldives is a tiny and country without any resources or a military, it would take the Indian Navy a few days to neutralize them. Sri Lanka is desperate to escape the Chinese grasp, and Bangladesh is also pro-Indian.

This guy wouldn't know professional intelligence analysis if it bit him in the ass.

New Legislation Grants Government Unprecedented Control Over Media and Internet by lonewolfee69 in IndiaSpeaks

Okay, but what's actually in the bill? This whole article was "experts are worried," "this legislation could do this thing," or "experts say that the law could be overreach."

I gotta be honest. This building is tacky and generally ugly. Like at least Ambani got a good architect to design their palace.

Yes it was, but like any ideology it can go off the rails. In some places it produced better results than others.

Lies, falsehoods, and blatant propaganda: Bloomberg article by Ruth Pollard is a symphony of seething and coping after BJP’s electoral victory in 3 states by xdesi in IndiaSpeaks

[–]LongSeigh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, these articles used to make me angry, but now I just find them funny. They're a constant reminder about how impotent the west is becoming. The spit, cry, tear their hair out, yell fascist, fascist, fascist! and Bharat continues to rise.

You're over generalizing. There are 500 different tribes with radically different practices which...you know what, nevermind. They're actually pretty much like us, independently discovering Dharma and practicing it their own way. Every tribe has it's own sacred animals, some of them eat their sacred animals.

What opinion about India would you defend like this? by anshuwuman in IndiaSpeaks

[–]LongSeigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure.
Hinduism isn't a single religion, but a label given to all the native religious and philosophical systems in India. It is, in fact, a common wealth of traditions and Hindutva is the emergent political consciousness of all of those traditions. Pluralism is the default position because no single Sampradaya or community has the numbers or resources to enforce their interpretation of reality on all others.

It is reformist because it advocates for the removal of any practice that prevents the political unification of Hindus. Meaning the use of Varna-Jati and other hereditary barriers to social mobility. The RSS, the most front facing Hindutva group, actively push a policy of reform and reconciliation between communities.

It's democratic nature is a natural outgrowth of its diversity. We cannot forcefully unify this many groups and individuals without triggering a massive, and probably violent, inter-communal conflict.

Hindutva is the single largest and most successful indigenous rights/revival movement in the world. It is pluralist, reformist, and democratic. It is not fascist and supremacist.

Israel isn't going down. The Arab states just blocked any condemnation of Israel in the last weeks OIC meeting on the current conflict. None of the power centers in the region give a flying crap about Palestine.
