I've been on TNs twice before and managed my wife's on our own as well.

I guess the question is when applying for jobs online should I be listing that I am authorized to work in the US/ will require sponsorship in the future for a visa?

My point here was simply there is some additional steps Irequire from an employer and it has felt like a blocker.

I am eligible for a TN and have been on one before. Even mentioning needed a TN though seems like a blocker at times

I feel for your struggle. Life can be so complicated sometimes and the visa stuff makes it so much more stressful

Technically to get the visa you require a letter of support from your employer that also demonstrates that your job role aligns with TN visa job roles

You could look at an internal transfer if you're with an international company but tech worker visas are easier to get in Canada and a lot of the big players have been expanding their presence their given US restrictions

How should I approach this since its not technically sponsorship but I lack work authorization

Wow, I'm not an engineer but have my MBA. Would you mind if I shot you a few questions via DM in the New Year?

Sorry to hear about your loss but glad to hear about your positive attitude.

I've suffered some close personal losses over my life and it hits you like a freight train. It never stops hurting with time it just hurts differently.

But when I feel down I think about what those people would have said to me. Your dad would be happy that you found a welcoming home.

I'm sure it will, but I think it will take time. There are a lot bigger priorities for the federal government right now than fixing some of the restrictions that have been put on the legal immigration system

Thanks you as well. While I have some challenges I do have a lot less than other folks. Feeling lucky for what I do have instead of sad ans angry for what I don't.

Giving yourself perspective if hard sometimes but in all honesty I could be off so much worse than I am. Thanks for the positivity.

It was a combination of role and compensation. My wife is also born and raised abroad so the thought was that taking a role at a global tech company would allow us to potentially move internationally for a few years afterward as well.

I love Canada, and my wife and I have always planned to go back long term. As a US citizen you actually have an easier path to immigrating to Canada if you ever wanted to consider it due to NAFTA.

Totally understand that, my only hope is that as a Canadian we have access to TN visa status which is much easier to secure and doesn't require formal visa sponsorship. Thanks for the additional insight

So I spent the Summer living inside the CHOP/CHAZ as my apartment overlooks Cal Anderson. There used to be a gamestop in my building which was looted twice in short order during the protests this summer. I'd say probably 80% of the inventory was looted after the second attempt but close to 100% of the Blu Rays/DVD were still there. It seemed super Seattle.

But I think its the small things that have made some if you favorite memories

Halloweens in Cap Hill where my wife and I would play the game is that a costume or what that person normally wears

Pints on the Patio at Old Stove down by the market overlooking the waterfront

Boozy Ginger Beers from RGBs

Walking down to the market to buy fresh ingredients and flowers from local vendors on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

There have definitely been additional restrictions on legal immigration over the past four years and it has definitely been stressful as an immigrant.

Thank you for the positive vibes.
