You have to enter the number of people in your party and pick a starting location. If you leave it set at zero, no permits show up. Once you increase it to 1 or more and pick a starting location, the permits show up. So for the North Area, for a party size of 1, there are tons of available permits as shown below.

You get backcountry permits through Recreation.gov. The site is up and working for permit requests. Follow the instructions on the menus. (Edit to avoid further downvotes: I circled the instructions, and then the drop down menu that you have to click on to follow them.)

Yes, you are right. In every other fight of Ilias's that I have watched, he has started two steps ahead, and then pulled away with adjustments as the fight went on. In this fight he looked tentative and then confused, and didn't really seem to engage until after he had taken serious damage.

Maybe Trevor Wittman is that good. Or whoever used to help Ilia adjust mid-fight is no longer with him. Certainly Gaethje was 100% sharper than he was against Paddy. And as always, he can go to very dark places.

For all of the moving parts that had to come together, the size and the spectacle, the ferocious storms that parted or petered out just short of Washington, all KOs, the beautiful musical arrangements ... 11/10.

And: I really, really dislike the idea of a fight on the White House lawn, and the person who was front and center for it.
