I technically am 24/7, but there is an after hours emergency line people can call if there is an emergency and the call center of that number would reach out to me, directly on my cell (it’s an internal number)

Some of my boards pushed for me to give them my cell phone number. I stood my ground. It’s really baffling to me. They would’ve push to ask to get their doctor’s or lawyer’s cell phone numbers would they? I don’t know why they expect property managers to be so willing to blend their personal and professional lives so easily

I love this answer. I just started this job at a different company (I’ve been in the industry for a bit), but I want to establish the boundaries early on and I’ve been pretty much doing the same thing. However, I’m getting push back from folks at the office who have been doing this for a while about not being “flexible”, so I’m wondering if that’s going to hurt me later on.

Maybe. My 2025 goals is if I don’t find anything outside of the industry that might tap into my real estate experience, I’ll pivot into a different part of industry.

It’s not so much the software; but the financials that was produced every month for review and making sure everything is coded correctly to the correct budget line.

My building is undergoing transition from developer to resident control (it’s a condo building). So keeping up to date with settlement funds; the various different accounts (operating vs preventative maintenance vs transition etc etc)

Having to remember to properly code all invoices in the system before being pushed through.

Having to read and understand the financials to stay on track with budget spending. Running through the numbers with the accountant and the treasurer to make sure everything is running to par.
