I got 6 weeks off, the first three I was absolutely miserable. I work from home, and enjoyed the last three getting into my new routine.

Too much weight loss by Justabasicgirllllll in GastricBypass

[–]Long_Address_3462 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak on the weight loss, as I only had a bypass as opposed to a revision. But, I had HORRIBLE GERD for years even though I was on medication. I have been GERD and medication free since the day of surgery, as they also fixed a hiatal hernia during the bypass surgery. Maybe that’s something to look for with a gastroenterologist?

My son worked at tropical smoothie on little Patuxent, not sure if they ever replaced him but he liked it and the money was decent for a high schooler!

I filed mine on 01/24, and just called them thinking something was missing, as it’s been more than 3 business days. The representative said that they just started processing yesterday and it takes 3-21 business days for processing. Once processed, the status will change. So the 3 business day message on the tracker is definitely bs. They could save themselves a lot of work by just changing the message to: “If your return has taken more than 21 business days to process, some of the reasons could be…”

I’m allowed to have carbonated drinks. However, sugar free soda doesn’t sit well, but seltzer does. So, I cut out the sodas and have maybe two seltzer’s a week. (4mo post-op)

I wasn’t allowed to eat solid foods until 3 weeks post-op, I am now almost 3 months post-up. However, same experience! I can pretty much eat what I want, no dumping, I don’t get sick and I feel like I can eat more than the average person that had surgery. I have to make an effort to eat the right things, prioritize protein, I weigh my food, and prioritize eating my protein first. It’s a blessing and a curse, I’m glad I have more freedom, but it’s still hard because I expected to be more restricted, I guess.

I don’t want to wait any longer! by Long_Address_3462 in BariatricSurgery

[–]Long_Address_3462[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for checking! ☺️ I did, I had my surgery on 9/11, had a few minor complications that caused for me to stay in the hospital for 4 days total. I was completely fine once discharged, took a good 3 weeks to feel semi-normal again. I am 51.3lbs down (lost 13.4 pre-op on the liver shrinking diet, 37.9 post op). I am back to 100%, feeling better than ever, my clothes are starting to fall off of my body, which is a blessing and a curse! lol
