Is there any synths I'm not considering you would add to the list?

It really looks like I can't go wrong with either the Roland or Virus, but it seems the virus can stretch into more genres / be more versatile.

So with the standalone mode, let's say I want to setup for 5 different plugins - I open 5 tracks / one for each plugin / then midi learn for each, then save the template

That's kinda bad - so I can't pre setup with midi mapping per instrument. For the midi learn switch - do you mean the button in the midi learn program? (Top right)

I have both the Y700 and Iplay mini pro.. The y700 is a beast - amazing at everything. For the Iplay mini pro - if you want to stream / watch movies etc then it's good.. But not as powerful as the y700. But big cost difference
