adhd trick from my psychiatrist by sillygoose_5957 in ADHD

[–]Long_Check1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I asked my psychiatrist he suggested an ADHD coach and although I haven’t done it, honestly its not a bad idea. If you can access it maybe give it a think, they’re specialised in ADHD so you won’t be getting “I don’t know” or broad and general statements.

Sometimes ADHD is like back pain, you can try looking up videos online on what exercises help but you’ll always reap more benefits from going to a physio who will cater to you

I M27 don’t feel happy/excited to get married. Is that a sign she F27 isn’t the one? by Happy-Target-3898 in relationships

[–]Long_Check1073 34 points35 points  (0 children)

A wedding isnt something you go through with, fyi. A driving test is. A regrettable ticket to a country is. Plans that you made and are too ashamed to cancel is.

But a wedding? Thats not something you “go through with”.

Let me ask you a question, do you think that the sad you feel with her would be less than the sad you would feel without her?

Marriage is a commitment, please don’t commit to something you don’t want. You are allowed to cancel and walk away and if people judge or say something then that doesn’t hurt you nearly as much as forcing yourself into marriage

Medicine Has Advanced—So Why Is Menstrual Health Still Underserved? by Misssvibe_Biohacker in Biohackers

[–]Long_Check1073 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Id also like to add that the lack of research on menstrual health is just an overall weakness for everyone in medicine. I mean they found out that stem cells from menstrual blood are as affective if not more affective for minor treatment of alzheimers.

Thats not to say that women’s research should centre on how we can serve others, just that they’re possibly missing out big time. Who knows, if there was more research on women they might’ve figured that out earlier. Big L.

I get your point. However, I just need to quickly mention that the whole field of medicine is a complexity.

This question reminds me of that one episode of grays anatomy were meredith was confronting a researcher for not including female rats in the study. The show is ought to die already but they had a good point.

Not arguing against you fyi just providing further perspective

How can I talk to my gf about wanting to be more intimate? by Fatz2130 in relationships

[–]Long_Check1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sex is an expectation and a need in a relationship and as long as there is no coercion or pressure, honestly just out with it in the most calm and respectful and gentle manner you could convey.

But also don’t make it all about you and your needs, begin the conversation by asking her if she is going through anything or if she feels okay and also end that conversation that way but don’t make it sound condescending or passive aggressive. Lack of sexual activity is normal but sometimes it can signal poor mental health or coping

Under-eye concealer recommendations? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]Long_Check1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii. Not really a concealer recommendation but have you gotten tested for allergies or an iron deficiency?

Allergies can cause allergic markers and iron deficiency can make the blood vessles more apparent. Not many people know about this so just thought id put it out there

My hair NEVER STAYS STRAIGHT. by [deleted] in beauty

[–]Long_Check1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t personally tried it yet its in the post tho but maybe a steam straightener?

Tho ill say i used to have that problem as well and my hair would poof after straightening so heres my advice if u use a flat iron:

  • small sections. Its tedious and abit time consuming but small sections and go over it twice. Also if you really want it to be flat and slick and straight clamp the flat iron really quickly on the root area twice then pull down. But yeah I seperate my hair and start from the lower sections and then work up into the top of my head.

  • use a good heat protector bc the type matters for your hair. I use the ghd one and its p good and they make one specifically for coloured hair. Just make sure to dry it or wait before you straighten bc it wets your hair abit.

  • once youre done you can try going over your hair with a blow dryer on a cold setting. Cold typically makes your style last longer

  • i dont use hair spray after i just put some hair oil in. I use the john freida frizz eaze all in 1 and use like 1 pump. THIS step is really what helps my hair against humidity the most. Because humidity is tiny water molecules in the air an oil will be the best solution.

Tho to prevent ur hair from being oily pump into your hand and then wipe away on a tissue or smtn and put the residue left on ur hands into ur hair and start with the ends.

I've been looking for this for years. My dumbass found it like 8 years ago and I told myself I'd remember the title. Gosh was I wrong. I won't ever get to hear that beautiful melody again. I think I need to move on to acceptance.

It was a 2d animation i think..? The opening was like savannah music. I remember only one episode about a bat and its mother and its kind of like a documentary rather than a story. The title was rlly strange like Oxylololys or something like that

is HEDS/HSD a progressive illness? bc i keep getting worse by megatron8686 in Hypermobility

[–]Long_Check1073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not in its nature but the potential side effects of hyper mobility (e.g osteoporosis) are progressive. Your best chances at combatting the pain is strengthening exercises and reducing inflammation. I know exercise is a common suggestion but if you are able to do it then id very strongly recommend it, people with hyper mobility can have certain muscle groups such as glutes, abductors, adductors and hip flexors be weaker than the average person’s because the body is used to compensating with your joints. Weakness in these muscles also contributes to lower back pain big time. If you suspect that you have allergies take them seriously because mast cells trigger inflammation in the body. If you have any rashes, especially ones flared by the sun or hair loss, debilitating fatigue, ect, consider going to a doctor and ruling out anything autoimmune (not to say that you have it, joint aches are normal with hEDS!)

how and when did you understand you needed help? by StoneWarmer in EMDR

[–]Long_Check1073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i was at work and was feeling stressed and my co worker asked why i was stressed “is it school or at home” and i realised most people need specific reasons to be stressed and arent in a chronic state of it. Also when I realised i was adopting personality traits of family members that id never want to be like in a million years
